UCLA is one of my favorite dark horses this year; I think they'll end up being on the upper level of the PAC in their final season...that's all I got. |

This is a talented side that’s been gaining momentum for a couple seasons. Exciting race to the finish before their transition |

I'll be honest, I flipped between UCLA, Pitt, Ole Miss, Miss. State, and Boise State for about 20 minutes trying to figure out who deserved #25 the most, and finally I got tired of spending so much time on a preseason poll and just picked UCLA because Chip Kelly can run an offense pretty effectively (at the college level) year after year with QB after QB. UCLA had a solid 2022 in a tough Pac-12 conference, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, but the defense must improve if they're going to get to the top 10 this season. |

UCLA is replacing a longtime starter in Dorian Thompson-Robinson but have plenty of talent in the QB room with highly rated freshman Dante Moore and experienced transfer Collin Schlee. PFF graded Schlee as the second overall quarterback in the MAC last year. The Bruins lost a bruising and dominant runner in Zach Charbonnet and may struggle to do so. Despite losing their two top recieivers, they add the talented J. Michael Sturdivant from Cal and Kyle Ford from USC. The defense is struggling but has tried to reload through the transfer portal. The defense now loses three starters in the secondary, but it returns most of that formidable edge rushing group. The Bruins also brought in four defensive transfers in hopes of taking the defense to the next level. There is a lot of turnover but the roster still has talented to be a good to above average P5 team. |
