11-3. Will be 11-1 going into SECCG before losing to Bama. Then lose a disappointing game to Michigan in the Outback bowl after being passed by LSU for the Sugar. This rounds out our top 10 and my more detailed predictions. Big 10 ends with 3 top 10 teams, SEC with 3 top 10 teams, PAC 12, Big 12, ACC, and independents with 1 each. |

Georgia has always had the tools, just never made over the hump. I'm a teensy bit higher on them than most likely because I always thought Richt underachieved his recruiting a bit and they could potentially get a first year new head coach bump. I'm not saying they will, but the possibility of it leaves me slightly higher on UGA. |

With Smart, I doubt they skip a beat on defense, and their defense was respectable last year. I think their offense can be really good, but with both RBs coming off tough injuries, I won't put them too high just yet. If their offense is good, I think they can be a top 10 team, but right now I think the injury questions are too big to put them that high right now. |

Georgia welcomes back Kirby Smart to Athens as the Dawgs prepare to make a big splash in their coach's first season as a head coach. A starting QB has yet to be named* as Jacob Eason has provided plenty of competition for Greyson Lambert. If Nick Chubb can return to pre-injury form, Georgia will continue to move up the polls. *as of 8/29 14:00 EST |

Sure, here seems good for Georgia. They'll be moving around a bunch anyways with early games against UNC, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. Gun to my head, I say they are 2-3 after the Tennessee game but they could easily be 5-0 too. |

Georgia returned about 75% of their offense and defense, and added 3 5-star recruits. They won 10 games last year, and will likely increase that total this year. A stacked SEC could derail those hopes, though. |

Georgia will be dangerous and a real contender for the SEC East due to Nick Chubb.  If Jacob Eason can take over and bring them to the next level, Tennessee needs to watch out. |

I like Georgia this year a lot, a whole lot. I probably could've put them even higher. A strong finish in 2015 and one of the most talented returning rosters in the nation does it for me. Add on top of that Georgia has killed it in recruiting the last few years. Ranked #6 in the 2016 247sports talent composite, the Bulldogs have the NFL talent to play with anyone. Will this be the year they finally breakthrough? We will see. A lot will be riding on the shoulders of Jacob Eason the #1 QB incoming QB recruit in this class. It's a tall task, but if he lives up to the hype I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the division and finish top 10.  |

A bit apprehensive about Georgia due to coaching change, Chubb coming off injury, and a true freshman QB. They are loaded with talent, but I'll wait to see how the refreshed program gels early on. |

Will Kirby Smart maintain or lose control of Georgia? The first time HC is tasked with sorting a QB situation off the bat. Does he go with Senior Greyson Lambert, who had a good but not great 2015, or does he go with Freshman Jacob Eason who looks to be UGA's QB of the future? Despite having stud HB Nick Chubb, expect Georgia to have an adjustment year under Kirby Smart. I wouldn't bank on them contending for the SEC title just yet.  |

How well can Smart take over for Richt? Chubb should be ready to go and the defense can only improve ,right? |

I have no idea what to do with Georgia and I will say nothing more. Ok I will say their defense and offense both have really great strengths and weird weaknesses and the QB situation is concerning despite the hype. I think it'll be an 8-4 year out of the Bulldogs when all's said and done but this poll takes into account last year's finish minus loss, plus additions. Georgia loses a few on defense, and needs to sort out offensive line, but healthy players and returning veterans in the secondary, at linebacker and elsewhere along the lines means Georgia will be a pretty decent team for Kirby Smart's first year. |

Now we get to the point where we rank teams I don't personally like but everyone else think highly of. They've got two injured RBs, a new coach, and a freshman QB.Granted, they'll likely rely on a very good defense, but I don't buy the hype. |

Georgia is ranked 23rd because ?????? They could very well win the East but we have no idea how they would do it looking at their preseason depth chart. Jacob Eason's good-case-scenario is a Josh Rosen type season, but starting a true freshman that didn't enroll early makes you wonder just how high the disaster upside is. Nick Chubb could be fantastic Nick Chubb of old and a rock for the offense to lean on as the passing game develops, or he could never be the same again recovering from his horrible injury. Brian Keblanow and Greg Pyke could anchor an offensive line that goes from being pretty good to pretty great, or John Theus' replacement could be lackluster, keeping them pretty good. A front seven that is completely overhauled could easily be better this year with Smart's defensive acument in play and the talent waiting in the wings, or it could simply be too inexperienced. Literally the only position group I think we can say anything about with certainty is that Georgia's secondary will be excellent, returning all four starters after a very productive 2015. I think there are too many questions to have Georgia ranked in the teens, but too much talent to have them unranked, so here they sit.  |
