texas2089	12	The Vols got off to an extremely ugly start against FCS Austin Peay. The teams were dead locked at 6-6 before Tennessee scored their first TD with just 15 seconds left in the first half. A 30-13 victory over the Governors was anything but convincing. The one bright spot was the balance the Vols showed. 33 passes, 32 rushes. 228 passing yards, 228 rushing yards. Perfectly balanced. Thanos would be proud. Speaking of Thanos, hopefully the Vols can SNAP out of it as a trip to Gainesville comes next week where the Vols have lost 9 straight times.

Only putting up 30 pts against a team like Austin Peay is not really something a top-25 program should do. Luckily for the Vols, they play in the SEC and have 10 regular season game left. Tornadohunter24	13	If there is one thing good to say about Tennessee this week, it’s that they didn’t choke at home vs an FCS school in Austin Peay last weekend. That seems to be about the only good thing anyone can take from that sloppy 30-13 win, with the vaunted Volunteers offense that was so strong against an admittedly poor Virginia seeming to misfire from the get-go. That kind of lackluster performance will not serve them well in SEC in-conference play, which they start this weekend against East division rival Florida. While I’m under no illusions into the Gators actually being good this year, the Vols must do better if they want to take the next step and return to challenging the Georgia Bulldogs for the East crown and repeat last year’s feat of knocking off the Crimson Tide. Hopefully for them, they can use the Florida game for exactly that.
