bretticus33 | 19 | UTSA is now in the AAC and I think they’re the front runner for the G5’s NY6 spot. Why UTSA over Tulane? Mainly because they’ve been really good for the last 2 or 3 seasons. Jeff Traylor has turned UTSA around and Frank Harris is the best QB that isn’t playing P5 football, despite the P5’s best efforts to lure him away. UTSA will get some OOC opportunities to show their chops with road games at Houston and at Tennessee. Get a win or two there and UTSA will be the clear favorite. |

ikindalikelemons | 24 | What Jeff Traylor has done in San Antonio is nothing short of stupendous. UTSA has every chance to be a perennial bowl team and compete, starting next year, for a legit shot in a 12-team playoff. That's nuts to me. Two big non-con games in the first month at Houston and Tennessee. September will really show us if UTSA is here this year. I want to look all the way to the last week against Tulane, but let's not get ahead of ourselves yet. |

oghawks18 | 25 | Although they’ll be in a tougher conference, UTSA brings back a lot of guys with a lot of experience, which is big in the G5. Traylor is also that dude. I’m a little hesitant because I have no clue how some of those OOC games will go, but I think they’ll be great in most of their conference games. Other teams strongly considered - UCLA, NC State, TCU, Missouri, Boise State, Illinois, Ole Miss, Marshall, Kentucky, Arkansas, Ohio, Louisville |

JetoGrov | 8 | One of my pillars of poll-building is to give preference to good G5 teams over middling P5 (P4? RIP) teams (GET OLE MISS OUT OF MY FACE). I think UTSA will be the best G5 team this year, look for them to give TN a real scare on Sept 23, and win the newly shaped American. |

SpursUpSoundsGudToMe | 21 | A very very well run program that always executes at a high level. I don't think they have the athletes to make a Tulane-like push at this point, but I don't think they fall off much after stepping up a level from CUSA |

throwaway_6786 | 22 | The Roadrunners had a disappointing finish in a tough Cure bowl loss vs. Troy, but they took the C-USA title game over North Texas and at one point had a 10-game winning streak. UTSA has been consistently good over the last couple of seasons, which gives me just enough confidence to keep them in the top 25. Obviously, they'll have to keep winning to stick around, but Jeff Traylor has turned this team into a tough-to-beat bunch, so for now, MEEP MEEP! |

ScaratheBear | 24 | Meep Meep, the Roadrunners are coming to the AAC. 23-5 over their last 2 years with B2B conference titles, UTSA has been one of the best G5 programs in the country. Last years team took Houston to the wire and teased the hell out of Texas. This years team must travel to Houston, Tennessee, and Tulane, and hopefully keep the Meeps rolling. Frank Thomas is fun, and Jeff Traylors offense if fun. |
TinderForMidgets | 24 | They welcome back nine starters on offense including a quarterback who is arguably the greatest UTSA player in history. The roadrunners will see a new face take over as offensive coordinator which may have some growing pains. The defense does return seven starters of a good defense. UTSA is overall a good team and has the potential to win their conference and make some noise. |
