Wake Forest and NC State are the only two programs whose opponents are undefeated outside of their games. WF opponents are 5-0 outside of WF matchups, and NC State's are 4-0. NC State does have half of a possession lead over WF in average MOV but it does not seem to be influential enough, as well as considering NC State's schedule as slightly softer so far.
Wake Forest is 3-0 and has what appears right now to be a nice win over Vanderbilt (3-1). They play Clemson next week and could shoot way up the poll with a win.
Escaped Liberty by the hair on their chinny chin chin. Still like this Hartman-led offense, but that defense could get them in trouble and lead to a loss before too long.
Liberty was a two-point conversion away from pulling off the upset over Wake Forest. Since the Flames fell short, the Demon Deacons' unbeaten record lives to fight another day. Wake Forest welcomes in Clemson next Saturday in a game with colossal ACC Atlantic implications. (Week 3: Wake Forest 37, Liberty 36; Record: 3-0)
This was basically a 3-way tie between Wake Forest, Florida State, and NC State for me. None of them have looked particually impressive to me this season (and I know I still have the AP's #12 NC State still not ranked but they aren't good so I will continue to not rank them), but the tie-breaker for me here is I have Wake Forest beating #8 Clemson this week.
