Nathanael-Greene Ballot for 2022 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 18, 2022, 9:24 a.m.

Overall Rationale: The Top 6 teams stay the same pretty much, all won their games in convincing fashion so they don't move. USC moves up as Fresno was their first real test in my eyes, and they passed it. Things get a little more difficult from here, with the 8-12 teams being able to be reordered in any sense that I wouldn't disagree with. UNC moves up to 13, as their App State win looks good and they are currently undefeated, and Wake moves down a few notches after a close call with Liberty. Washington had a great performance against MSU and join the Top 15 as a result. Texas closes well against UTSA and still looks good, and with Ewers reportedly getting better quicker I expect they'll perform well entering into Big 12 play. Penn State went on the road to Auburn and dominated them. Minnesota is 3-0, though I'm still not quite sure how good they are yet. App State had a heck of a game against Troy, who almost beat them, but ASU survives. Not much to say about Michigan State and Cincinnati. Oregon rejoins the Top 25 after a convincing win against BYU, which also makes Georgia seem that much more a serious, terrifying team. The last three spots of the Top 25 are tenuous, but Tulane is 3-0 and beat Kansas State, BYU is hanging on by a thread and may not stick around long, and Kansas has had their first 3-0 start in 12 years against a decent Houston team last week.
