LeWoofle Ballot for 2022 Week 4

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 18, 2022, 9:17 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Human poll relying mostly on Resume, SoS, and MoV. Eye-test used sparingly, and usually only in situations with similar bodies of work for the season. Relying on a small amount of influence from last year.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia clear number 1 and it isnt close.
Alabama Crimson Tide Win against Texas is good enough to displace Ohio State, whos ND win is (through no fault of OSUs) looking not as premier each week.
Ohio State Buckeyes Unfortunately, the Premier ND win is starting to be meaningless.
Michigan Wolverines
Oklahoma Sooners
Clemson Tigers
Oklahoma State Cowboys
USC Trojans Fresno State is quite a good team, and USC blew them up. The defense still looked vulnerable, but for now USC deserves a top ten spot.
Kentucky Wildcats
Ole Miss Rebels
Tennessee Volunteers
Arkansas Razorbacks Ugly, ugly win for Arkansas, and has potential to drop fairly far if they lose a game in the coming weeks.
NC State Wolfpack
Oregon Ducks Seems like a big loss to UGA is going to be coming to everyone who plays them. Might be slightly too high, but Oregon blasted a BYU team that defeated a good Baylor team.
Penn State Nittany Lions Probably deserves to be higher, but the Purdue win lost some luster. Fortunately, they blasted Auburn and looked good doing it. Will rise quickly if they continue to win.
Washington Huskies Some small offensive stalls here and there, but UW dominated MSU in a game that saw garbage time early in the third quarter.
Texas Longhorns Took a little while to step on the gas, which they cant afford to do if they want to stay in the top 15. A mediocre performance even in a win going forward will result in a slight drop.
Utah Utes
Washington State Cougars Wisconsin win looks better this week, and Wazzu breaks into the top 25 a little higher than i expected, but i should have had them ranked last week.
Minnesota Golden Gophers No premier wins yet, so cant justify placing them higher, but Minnesota looks to be a powerhouse this year. Will rise quickly if they win during conference play.
Pittsburgh Panthers The close OT Tennessee loss doesnt hurt them too badly, and Tennessee offense is continuing to look good.
BYU Cougars Rough loss without some of their key players, but i wont drop them out of the top 25 due to the win against a still very good Baylor team.
Baylor Bears Baylors BYU loss looks a little worse, and this ranking is probably still too low for them, but they will rise if they play well in conference play.
Oregon State Beavers All 4 teams in the PNW look good enough to be ranked. Strong showing against one of the better FCS teams, although the Fresno State win is mostly propped up by my (potentially wrong) high opinion of Fresno state after they lost Jake Haener in the third quarter of a bashing by USC
Wake Forest Demon Deacons I had Wake Forest at 11 last week, and they proved me wrong with a rough performance. Back down to normal ranking you go.
