Yes, I know this is ridiculously high for them. But I believe in Dave Aranda, and I believe he's going to take Baylor to heights Rhule and (he who I won't name) never took them took. |

Maybe I'm a bit high on this team despite it losing a few key contributors from a season ago. But they return enough from a team that was maybe one win away from making the playoffs for me to be optimistic. The Big 12 is wide open enough to where I would expect them to not only challenge for the title again but to also be favorites this time out. |

Big12 champs finishing last year with a 12-2 record, they’re returning 4 offensive linemen and a total of 7 starters on both sides of the ball. Beat Ole Miss in the Sugar Bowl. |

I am a big Aranda guy and the top-10 ranking is like 75% based on him. I don't care who is playing for him, you're going to get a tough, physical team who will give you everything you can handle. Fortunately for Aranda, though, the players are also excellent. I love what Jeff Grimes does with all of the outside zone he runs. There is nothing fancy about this team-- they're just daring you to stop them. The problem? Not all that many teams can. They certainly punched OU in the mouth last season. I think their chances of repeating as Big XII champs hinge on their ability to do that again-- and they may pull it off. |

Baylor is hard to predict as they were a very good team last year, but they lose a lot of production in their secondary and WR groups. Their recruiting in 2021 also wasn't the strongest, but Aranda has been able to do more with less |

The defending Big 12 champions have high hopes after a surprising 2021 season that resulted in a Sugar Bowl win. Most of their stellar defense returns, but Blake Shapen is taking the helm at QB with Bohanon transferring out. Returning 4/5 of a stellar OL will help immensley. |

I feel similar ways about Baylor and Michigan this season. Can Shapen (like McCarthy) be all he is expected to become? Will either the offense or defense be able to become truly elite? From both programs, I expect a lot of competence, but wonder how high the ceiling is. |

Great season but loses a lot; lucky (4-1 in one possession); coaching staff intact; okay recruiting. Baylor lost a lot and it's hard to see if the replacements will be enough to make up. |

120.8 points -> NY6 Contender. Could be another great year for the Bear. They should be able to compete for a spot in the Big 12 title game, where they could pull off some magic again. |

They'll barely escape the BUTT bowl, and they'll drop the games against Oklahoma, ISU, and KSU, but they'll beat Oklahoma State and Texas. A conference title loss to Oklahoma will precede a respectable second-tier bowl win, for a 10-4 end to the Bears' season. |
