Texas has a loss to Maryland, which is hard to know how bad that is. They also have wins over USC and TCU, which are both looking like solid wins (despite having 2 losses). |

Back to back 15+ point wins over USC and TCU got Texas into my poll for the first time this season. So Texas is not back they just arrived. |

No Texas isn't back. But they're on their way. Two good wins in a row. Still not enough to erase that loss to Maryland at home. USC has been extremely dissapointing so that win is just meh now. Oklahoma is the real test. But they better not be caught slipping by Kansas state who has lost to Miss St and WVU - two good teams. Kansas St on the road wont be an easy win |

TEXAS IS BACK, BABY. Since the second half of the USC game this has looked like a different team. The TCU win was actually really impressive, and while USC might not be good they're probably(?) too talented to be bad... if there's such a thing after seeing FSU this season. Texas's secondary is coming along nicely and there's some future superstars in it. As with everyone else outside of the top 16, I don't feel like UT should be this high, but who else would go ahead of them? Last week: 27 |

Beat a ranked TCU squad that I am not sure if they are good or not this year. Perhaps "rejects" is a fair assumption but additional data is needed. No one beats Texas 5 times in a row. Ranked wins are good.TEXAS IS UNSURE IF BACK OR NOT MAYBE |

End me. After going through all of the P5 one-loss teams besides the ones already in this ranking, I truly do think Texas has what it takes to stay in the top-25. They have the most talent, best schedule to get the most wins, and especially since it seems like Herman nearly got it together after watching their performance against TCU. They did break history too. I was close of ranking Maryland, but their next match isn't favorable and the situation over there is dire. Texas is fucking weird folks, I have to put them in that 25th AKA ??? spot. |

I really did not want to put a team who lost to (possibly respectable?) Maryland and nearly lost to certainly unrespectable Tulsa in my Top 25. But the computers love the Longhorns and they didn't just eke out wins against two FPI Top 30 teams (USC, TCU); they dominated. So, for now, Texas get the vote. Honorable Mentions: South Carolina, Fresno State, Central Florida |

Texas is BACK (in the top 25). They've looked downright impressive in back to back weeks by beating USC and then a talented TCU team. They've done all they can to deserve this spot, and we'll see how they go from here.  |
