W_Is_For_Will Ballot for 2018 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 23, 2018, 10:10 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Originally I had planned on reviewing teams based on the scoreboard. Win's over everything and quality of the wins can dictate location on the top 25. It has been fun ranking all teams with undefeated records and analyzing what I believe to be the best wins of the week but now I have stumbled upon a curious question, "If I rank teams based on that week's wins and the quality of those wins will I end up with a final year end poll that determines the appropriate final four?" After the preparation of these polls I will work out a way to prepare an adjusted poll which includes the average team rankings from my week to week rankings. This should be a good indicator of who I truly believe has the hardest schedule and best overall season performance.

Rank Team Reason
Kentucky Wildcats Undefeated. In NCAA14 I took Kentucky to a few Natty's and that was fun. The game wasn't pretty but they did win and that's all that matters. Ranked wins are good.
Alabama Crimson Tide Undefeated. Beat down an, albeit, "ranked" Aggie team that took Clemson down to the wire. Helps pump up Bama's schedule for rankings time soon. Ranked wins are good.
Stanford Cardinal Undefeated, Stanford with the comeback crazy win. Ranked wins are good.
Georgia Bulldogs Undefeated. Smashed a conference opponent that appears to be trending in a good direction for the season.
West Virginia Mountaineers Undefeated. Beat in conference opponent handily.
Clemson Tigers Undefeated. Smacked a conference opponent and possibly started the small fire under PJ's seat?
Penn State Nittany Lions Undefeated. No love for Lovie in this one. Beat conference opponent. Illini, basketball season will be here soon.
UCF Knights Undefeated. Defeated the Lane Train.
Duke Blue Devils Undefeated, is Duke good this year? They've beaten some interesting teams, maybe this is my true "Boston College" ACC sleeper team.
Oklahoma Sooners Undefeated. Struggled putting away an Army squad in OT. OU can close games but this one squeaked by.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Undefeated. Played a Wakey team I thought would potentially be good this year, does not appear so.
North Texas Mean Green Undefeated, beat down a Liberty team that won against OD who beat a top 15 ranked VT. Which to me is as good as North Texas beating VT.
Syracuse Orange Undefeated. Beat up on FSU last week and dominated a down UCON. Not sure what to think but ROLL ORANGE ROLL.
Ohio State Buckeyes Undefeated. Dominated my Angry Waves and Urban is back.
LSU Tigers Undefeated. Beat local state school. Not too impressed.
NC State Wolfpack Undefeated.
Buffalo Bulls Undefeated and beat a Rutgers. My 5 year old niece could call plays and beats Rutgers though.
USF Bulls Undefeated. Beat down a CC team that I feel is in perpetual mediocrity/depression.
Cincinnati Bearcats Undefeated but the score indicates that this probably could have gone the other way.
Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors Next best ranking in college football 4-1.
Texas Longhorns Beat a ranked TCU squad that I am not sure if they are good or not this year. Perhaps "rejects" is a fair assumption but additional data is needed. No one beats Texas 5 times in a row. Ranked wins are good.TEXAS IS UNSURE IF BACK OR NOT MAYBE
Texas Tech Red Raiders I hate ranking my own team because it makes the pain hurt much more when they let me down in the next few weeks. However, they did beat a ranked OSU, no points allowed in the second half. Powerful adjustments. Ranked wins are good.
Maryland Terrapins Beat down a good PJ Fleck in conference team soundly.
Auburn Tigers Defeated SEC West Opponent soundly, no, not any of the teams that really actually mean more.
Memphis Tigers I like BBQ and high flying offense.
