Overall Rationale: All 1-loss or better P5 teams and undefeated G5/Independent teams are
considered eligible for ranking. **New for early season: ** additionally, all 2-loss teams are considered eligible if both losses came against undefeated opponents. Points are awarded as follows: +1 for
defeating an eligible team, -1 for losing to an eligible team, -2 for
losing to a non-eligible team, -1 for playing fewer than 4 P5 teams over
the entire season. Teams are grouped according to point totals and
