Tons of returning starters, dominant run game and defense, somewhat favorable schedule |

Florida State struggled at times in 2015 due to insufficiency at certain positions, but still proved themselves very competent with even a decent quarterback running the show.  With a talented youngblood holding the reins, anything is possible for this team.  He should be helped, however, but a vastly more experienced offensive line, a receiving corps loaded with talent, and one of the best runningbacks in the nation.     |

Florida State returns their entire offense for the 2016 season. Dalvin Cook is often overshadowed by McCaffrey and Fournette, but I believe he will be the best RB of the group this season. This group has the experience to carry their team into the Playoff. |

I'm relatively up on FSU. Unlike Michigan, I think FSU has the tools needed to make the playoff and potentially win it. |

Another loaded team.  They've got the ability to run the ball with authority.  Talent + running game = high ceiling. |

A very solid team that should have a nasty defense and Cook tearing up opposing defenses. Three big tests in the first five games. Plus USF could be good this year.  |

Maybe a top-2 team in potentials per snap, IDK. Both the offense and the defense are riddled with small question marks, but the absence of large question marks, the awesome quantity of young talent, and the expected maturation of matured talent make them a fashionable pick to challenge for the title. The faith I have in Jimbo over Les Miles gives them the edge over the very similarly situated LSU.  |

Jimbo Fisher's Florida State's teams have been loaded with talent, and this year is no different. This years squad will be lead by stub RB Dalvin Cook, one of the best RBs in the NCAA. The biggest issue facing Fisher this season is the QB position. Florida State opens with Ole Miss and gets Clemson at Doak Walker this year. Should Florida State win both of those match ups, look for Jimo Fisher's Seminoles to be zeroed in on a playoff spot.  |

Question mark at QB is the only thing holding this team back. The entire O-line coming back will help that process. |

If Deondre Francois (or whoever gets the start for FSU) can lead the team past some of the lesser opponents to start the season as well as Ole Mi$$ (kidding), a bye week before the Clemson game should give Dalvin Cook and Co. a significant chance of upsetting a Clemson team that won't have faced a true test yet. |

Has some incredible players with great experience. I expect them to have an incredible season. In my mind it's a tossup right now between them and Clemson for the ACC title. Clemson gets the edge in the preseason, but both as great teams. |

This one was tough for me. I originally had Florida State above the Sooners, but losing Jalen Ramsay is a big hit. The defense for FSU will have to step up and win big time games (Clemson) if they want to move up my poll, or Dalvin Cook will have to explode for big time games. I'd like to see either one, to be honest. |

I'm really not sold on FSU - I know they'll be good but not top 10 good. Dalvin Cook is fantastic, but the question mark at QB scares me. That being said, everyone else has them as a top-5 team, and I generally think wisdom of the crowd is a good idea. |

Florida State is probably lower than they should be but they also shouldn't have lost to Georgia Tech last year so they've got no room to argue.   |

FSU may be lower here than in some other polls. Finishing 15th in the 2015 preseason poll and returning one the lesser experienced rosters among P5 teams (#91 in returning experience by SB Nation) hurts them here.  |
