nejaahalcyon 10 I think Texas A&M could surprise people this year. I don't think they will beat Clemson, but they do host Alabama at home this year. The worst part of their schedule is that they have UGA and LSU as away games back-to-back at the end of the season.

Ticklebump 10 The Aggies would be higher up the list for me but I sadly think they have a schedule that would break even the toughest teams.Having Clemson, Bama, LSU, and Georgia is the closest to a "group of death" scenario I can think of for 2019. It wouldn't shock me if the Aggies pull off 2/4 of the games, but I just think they have to contend with too much fire power throughout the year.

tmothy07 13 Gotta go to Clemson, and I don't think they keep it as close as last year. Unfortunately this season, I think LSU and Alabama are hurdles that Jimbo can't clear.

BigBoutros 16 Meanwhile some teams do have a quarterback and a really good team behind him but they have to play a top-ten opponent basically every other week. A&M could finish with 5 losses yet be a top-10 team to S&P+.

frumious88 16 Texas A&M is in a position similar to Auburn but worse. Where Auburn was 4th in their conference, Texas A&M is 4th in their own division. What they do have going for them is one of the 5 active head coaches to win a national championship.
goblue10 16 The cupboard is filling up.
iliketoupvotepuns 16 Texas A&M plays each of my top 3 teams, and two of the three games are road games... Yikes. While the rest of the schedule is manageable, and the Aggies proved that they can worry even elite teams last year, they have quite a bit to replace. This will especially be felt on defense, where the secondary badly needs to be reworked and several of the pieces from an extremely good front 7 a year ago are gone. Still, the Aggies should be confident based off of their performance last year, and if Kellen Mond continues to improve, maybe (juuuust maybe) the Aggies can trade close losses to elite teams for upset wins. If Jimbo Fisher can do that while not dropping games to 'lesser' competition, a NY6 game is clearly on the table.

crownebeach 18 Paste everything I wrote about Texas into this box. The offense is going to be pretty, but losing their probable starting TE hurts, and the defense (which didn't wow me last year anyway) has lots of new faces. Will compete, but probably not contend.

steelcitygator 20 Texas A&M will be very good this year without a record to show for it because of how tough their schedule is.  Like I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish with 4 loses but win 2 of Clemson, Alabama, LSU, Georgia.  Like that schedule is just a bit stupid.

crimsonlaw 22 I don't like the outlook for this team. They are talented and will have a nice record, but I don't understand the borderline top-10 love they've been getting. Jimbo Fisher can recruit, but I don't think he is a great game-day coach. However, I'm primarily worried about their schedule. They face my top 3 teams plus Auburn and LSU. I'm guessing they suffer four losses in those five games. Let the overrated chants begin!
