HUSKEROYAL | 17 | TEXAS IS BACK... well, not yet. This team has potential to win their first conference title in almost a decade. As long as Tim Beck doesn't completely fuck up their offense (which I would NOT count on), this team could be a real surprise. There's tough matchups with USC and Oklahoma, but perhaps their toughest game will be the last game of the regular season against Kansas. I wonder what happened the last time Texas played on the road against Kansas... |
JeromesNiece | 17 | I think Tom Herman is about to take a big next step with Texas this year. Would not be surprised if they made it to the Big 12 title game |

mickeyquicknumbers | 18 | Get yr hot taeks here, I guess. This defense was unspectacularly pretty good last year - a top-25 national type unit - and with a ton of rising seniors on the depth chart I think they inch their way into the teens, making them probably the 2nd best defense in the Big 12 behind TCU. Offensively they were a mess; I think they find their footing as Ehlinger becomes a sophomore and the receiving group steps forward with experience. The OL is problematic (less a big deal in the big-12 than in other conferences) and the running game is in dire need of an emerging star; but with those kinds of problems you can still put together a 9-4 type season the way I think texas will. |

chrisb19 | 25 | I'm more bullish than most on the Longhorns (no pun intended). Todd Orlando is one of the best DCs in the country and Herman's lucky he hasn't gotten poached for a head coach gig yet. Last year Texas had a strong defense and a sputtering offense. If they can improve on offense and not lose too much production on defense, they're going to be solidly in the second tier of Big XII schools (the tier that isn't Oklahoma and TCU). I'm rooting for them to be back, even if I only see an 8 or 9-win team this season. |
