I'm keeping Utah at 9 because I don't have a team I think deserves the spot more. If I had to pick a Pac-12 Champ right now, it would have to be Utah, so that's my justification right now. Always subject to change, of course. |

Utah is the last best hope for the PAC 12, and I think they really could make a run at the playoffs. That said, I think that would require them to play nearly perfectly to not succumb to the PAC 12 After Dark shenanigans, but think they deserve a high ranking considering their talent, performance, and potential right now. |

Utah's win wasn't a bad one, but their performance on the field over the past two weeks was not as impressive as the teams that moved past them (Auburn and Wisconsin), nor was it impressive enough to justify moving them in front of a proven Texas team, in spite of their loss. Texas and Utah may be the two closest teams in my ranking. -1 |

Had some issues with
Northern Illinois in the first half. Got it figured out by the end. Still
wouldn't be surprised if they were undefeated until at least Washington |

They are still playing very ugly against teams they should beat. They are also undefeated, though, and have the best chance at winning any close game in the Pac12 due to their defense. |

DOWN 3They might go undefeated winning every game by 4 points.  Honestly don't know what I think of Utah now but I know I expect more from their offense.  Main reason I put them below Florida is I think Miami is still better than BYU but I'm not totally sure of that these days. |

Looked much improved over last week, against an NIU team that's basically a clone of BYU's style of play. |

The best Pac-12 team, given Washinton's loss this week. I couldn't really see a reason to move them up this week, so same position as last poll. A case could be made to hop them in front of Maryland, or maybe even UCF, but we'll see as the weeks go on. |

Utah has two bye weeks sandwiched around a matchup with Idaho State, so we really won't have any useful information on Kyle Wittingham's squad until they play Washington State in late September. Still, they have a talented and well-balanced roster and a program which consistently produces results year-to-year. |
