Their coach sounds like a swamp monster. Whats not to love. Stop me if this sounds familiar to LSU fans, I expect them to have a great defense but their team will only go as far as the offense can carry them. Lately that hasnt been very far. They will be tested right away against Miami, and we'll see if LSU can finally muster a good balanced offense |

LSU was heading into this season with a big question mark at QB even before the 3rd and 4th members of the depth chart announced their transfers. With Lindsey Scott already off setting the JUCO ranks on fire last year with his performances, LSU is putting alot of hope into the future of Myles Brennan going forward as a legit QB threat. He should get another year to learn, though, as Burrow, a former Ohio State backup QB, takes the reigns into this season. Could you have a more LSU QB situation than this? Like in several years past, LSU brings a likely top 10 defense into the season, but unlike many other years, LSU doesn't have an early season Heisman-hype RB to help alleviate the pressure on the QB position. If Burrow and Brennan don't pan out or, even worse, get injured, this could be a disaster of a season. The tigers should still put up some impressive performances, though, while winning a few underdog matches to likely get 9 wins before seasons end. Can they play spoiler to the top two teams in the country both coming to Death Valley? Maybe. But everybody in their backfield needs to show that they're capable first. |

LSU is perennially a mystery team for me. After getting rid of Les Miles for having the ceiling he had, they made Ed Orgeron their head coach. So far it's been difficult to see whether Coach O has a higher ceiling than being the 3rd best team in the SEC West, but nobody has had success knocking off Alabama. They always look like a 9- or 10-win team with the possibility to get a couple of big scalps. This year the Tigers host UGA in what should be one of the best cross-divisional match-ups of the season. When Miles was forced out it was due to a severe lack of offensive production and an inability to develop good QB play. Now LSU has an Ohio St transfer taking snaps and a new offensive coordinator, coupled with Dave Aranda as DC, one of the best assistant coaches in the league. An opening weekend clash against Miami will do a lot to set unrealistic expectations for one of these teams, and drawing UGA from the East gives them a trickier schedule than usual. A lot depends on what the new offense looks like. |

The talent they have...we'll know very quickly who they are after they play Miami in Week 1. |

Talented team, but will they solve their QB issues?  Don't think O will get fired this season unless they go like 3-9 or worse. |

Apart from a baffling loss to Troy, LSU had a strong 2017 campaign and looks to build on that work in 2018. |

I really don't know how good LSU is. They have so many stud athletes that it's hard to count them out.  |

More of the same seems to be in store for LSU: They'll be tough, they'll give teams trouble, but a brutal schedule likely limits them.  |
