UCLA is another team I have been buying hype on for a while.  The only thing holding them back, in my opinion, is Jim Mora.  With him as coach, I just expect them to lose at least one game they shouldn't.  But Josh Rosen is a really good quarterback, and the Bruins are talented. |

I'd say the odds of UCLA ending the season in the top 4 are about the same as Josh Rosen falling asleep at a sorority house and missing a game this season.  Which sound like pretty good odds.  |

They have a lot that I like, but a lot that worries me. They have so much talent on paper to make the playoff, but I have reservations. I always will with UCLA. |

Josh Rosen is really good, and they're chock-full of talent at the skill positions. Renewed commitment to the run game will make for a more efficient offense. |

Mora's got too many good players to lose too many games this year... right?  This is an odd year in the South and they should be favored to win it. |

Jim Mora has won 37 games over his 4 year campaign, no other UCLA coach has won more than 29. Him and Josh Rosen are looking to take the Pac12 by storm, but will have to take care of business right off the bat with the ever-challenging Texas A&M Aggies. |

UCLA had a good recruiting class for this upcoming season, recruiting a 5 star OLB who was #11 overall in the country. They returned about 90% of their defense and much of their offense. They are a clear #2 in the Pac12 for me, even though they had only won 8 games last year. |

UCLA open their schedule at Texas A&M, at BYU, and Stanford at home within the first month, which will be a good litmus test to how the Bruins, lead by sophomore QB Josh Rosen, will perform this year. If they can top Stanford and take out USC towards the end of the season, expect UCLA to be playing in the PAC 12 title game. Easier said than done however.  |

In my mind, the Pac-12 is Stanford's to lose, but this year's Stanford is not last year's. I expect UCLA to make some noise as they seem to always do. However, they seem to play poorly early on (see Virginia from a few years ago). Mora is a great coach, but I've yet to see him instill real discipline in his teams early on in the season or get the best play out of them early on. He always seems to right the ship, though. If he can get them on fire early, I think they can carry that momentum into their conference games and take the conference title, or at the very least their division. I don't expect them to make the CFP, though. |

Last year's offense was fun! And it could be better! Josh Rosen led the NCAA in potentials per pass attempt; and I expect him to take a step forward as true freshman quarterbacks tend to do. Soso Jamabo may have been better than Paul Perkins last year, he was also a freshman. The offensive line loses three guys, and the WR group loses 4 of Rosen's top-5 targets, so there is some concern. Defensively the Bruins return everyone important save possibly their best player, Kenny Clark, but defense was the reason UCLA lost five games last year. Operating under the placholder assumption of "moderate improvement for every returner" as well as the return of Vanderdoes, UCLA *should* be looking at a rebound in 2016. |

I have no idea what to expect. Didn't they lose to a 5-7 team in their bowl game? |

They've got a lot of returners on defense, and return a proven QB on O. The Pac-12 is stacked this year, but these guys could make a run for it. |

Josh Rosen should be really good. Week 1 with Texas A&M will give us a better idea of what to expect this season. |

A team that lost several influential players from last year despite returning a good QB I have them lower than the AP. A week one win against TAMU could gain them some momentum though. |
