Clemson's defense wasn't up to the big moments last year, but it's much more seasoned this year (four returning DBs, four returning DL). The offense is where my concerns are, but of the obvious top teams, Clemson's situation with D.J. Uiagalelei is the one that worries me the least. They didn't miss a beat offensively when he filled in for Trevor Lawrence last year. |

Clemson should have no problem tearing through the ACC even with Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne gone. |

Argument could be made for either Clemson or Ohio State here. They both lost key pieces at QB, but we know a little bit more about the QB stepping in at Clemson as he's already had to step into some big spots, and Clemson competes in the easier conference. Clemson also returns more starters overall |

Losing Trevor Lawrence hurts, but they have so much talent and experience at the highest level that they should easily reload. |

They lose a lot of talent including a multi-year starter/prodigal son at QB, the nations best DC got duped in the playoffs, and they lose a bunch of production.  That said, Dabo and Co. have been good a while.  Hard to give the teams below any greater leeway. |

It seems that for a while Alabama and Clemson shared the preseason No. 1 and No. 2 slot indefinitely, but replacing the number one overall draft pick and 3 year starter at QB is no small task. Like Alabama they will be looking to gel quickly as their week 1 date with Georgia could have huge implications. |

Tough to lose Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne, but return Ross and Skalski. Swinney has done it before, but it'll be tough |
