Tier D 1/2: Narrow loss to Kansas State is better than LSU losing handily to Miss. St. They also at least have a win even if it is vs. an FCS |

OU will be fine. Seriously, they will be. It's not time to give up on the entire year, and I do think this team is going to beat Texas. But.....that 2nd half was rough. Spencer Rattler has the talent to be elite, he still is a guy with limited experience and it shows. We'll talk again after the RRS.  |

I feel like Oklahoma will eventually land higher than this and I always expect great things from them, but the loss they took is hard to ignore and their O-line (which already looked lost the entire 4th quarter) lost EJ Ndoma-Ogar. If there was any season I could see them somehow ending unranked, it'd be this one. |

All things even I think Oklahoma is better than the 21 best team in the country.  That said with only 2 games to judge I can't put them above the team that beat them.  They will probably finish there though. |

D Tier (Honestly wanted to put Kansas State in front of them but struggled then with the idea that Arkansas State should then be ahead of KSU. So for at least this week, I will wait to put KSU in front of them.) |

I won't go over the rest of my ballot in detail, but I'll address probably the other contentious choices with my ballot, dropping Oklahoma to 25 and LSU out entirely. As I said above, I think the MSU/LSU result says more about LSU. Losing by double digits at home is really bad, and with all of the question marks they had coming into the season with the huge number of losses to both the roster and the coaching staff, we confirmed (at least for week 1) the fears that people had for how they would reload for this season. As for Oklahoma, they could definitely be slotted higher based on expectations, recent pedigree, blowout victory in game 1, etc. However, I absolutely could not justify ranking them higher than the Kansas State team that beat them head-to-head in Norman. |
