T-Thugs 1 Auburn is 4-0 with wins over Oregon (3-1), Texas A&M (2-2) and also a pretty decent looking Tulane team that is 3-1.

hokies220 2 Surprise surprise this high, but all three of their wins from before week 4 won in week 4. The win over TAMU wasn't as nice as Clemson's obviously, but the Oregon win is the second best win in the country and Tulane being 3-1 helps.
Jakesnake42 2 Auburn jumps to #2 as they took down TAMU this week on the road and have that win over Oregon. Arguably the best pair of wins so far.

crimsonlaw 3 I'm a Bama fan so I hate Auburn. That being said, you can't deny what they've done so far. Beating Oregon and Texas A&M, neither of which were home games, is damn impressive.

_Brazenhead_ 4 Two wins against, what I rank as, mid-ranked opponents. I really struggled with whether or not to rank them ahead of Alabama or not, but just trying to remain logically consistent here.

hypercube42342 4 Auburn's edge over Ohio State comes from their good wins against A&M and Tulane, and their outstanding win against Oregon. They haven't left no doubts, but a resume that strong is worthy of a top 4 ranking this early in the season (again, ignoring preseason expectations). +3

steelcitygator 4 They also get to stay #4 because they beat a Texas A&M team that is better than the record shows.

moistats_ 5 Turns out I put Auburn way too low. Auburn convincingly won at Texas A&M, and Oregon thrashed Stanford at their place. I think there is clearly a Georgia/LSU/Auburn tier right below the top 4. Auburn also has two notable wins rather than one.

TheJeemTeam 5 1/2 in Tier C: A couple of SEC West teams share this tier. Though LSU has been dominant and has what looks to be a hell of an offense, I'll give the edge to Auburn for now due to their quality wins over Oregon and Texas A&M.

chrisb19 7 I don't like the SEC West circle-of-self-fulfilling-prophecies but for now at least I think Auburn is justified here, although I could flip them with Wisconsin easily. Curious to see them line up against LSU, Bama, and UGA. They've got a gauntlet of a schedule.

Charlemagne42 8 (138 - 40 -> 98; 1 -> 8) Yep, the model had Auburn at #1. By TWENTY-FIVE POINTS. They got nearly the maximum penalty this week and still the War Eagle flies high at 8. Why? Oregon has gone on to do unspeakable things (albeit to awful competition) after losing to Auburn, and even Tulane has obliged by somehow (ahem trick plays) going 3-0 outside of their loss to Auburn. crownebeach 12 The box score is slightly misleading -- A&M racked up almost half their yards late in the game while they were chasing a big deficit. Even so, Auburn didn't control this one as much as they could have (should have?). Running and run defense are both strengths, but the pass defense showed vulnerability. Not a good sign for the road trip to LSU or the finale v. Bama.
