GenialGiant Ballot for 2019 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 23, 2019, 10:56 p.m.

Overall Rationale: A few shake-ups, especially lower down on my ballot. Until conference play picks up some, it's hard to know what to make of all the X-0 teams running around, and I don't think my model would yet fair particularly well here. First N Out - UCF

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers Another day, another hapless foe for Clemson.
Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama put away Southern Miss easily to hold their position near the top of my ballot.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia pulling off a strong win over Notre Dame puts them in a good position to pass one or both of the other top teams in the coming weeks.
LSU Tigers LSU's a feisty team and will hope to continue their success moving forward.
Wisconsin Badgers I was a bit hesitant to buy in on Wisconsin, and demolishing Michigan may not have convinced me as thoroughly as I'd like, but I think they still have one of the stronger showings in college football this year.
Auburn Tigers Hard to go wrong when you're undefeated with wins over two top-15 teams.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State is still great, they're just not putting up wins quite as impressive as their peers.
Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma will seek to rise in my rankings as they move into their Big 12 schedule.
Texas Longhorns Texas is a good team, and will look to prove it as they advance into their conference schedule.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Despite the loss, Notre Dame holds a position in my top 10.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State will face their first real test this Friday night when they visit the hot-and-cold Terps in College Park.
Florida Gators The Gators look absolutely terrible, but they keep winning, so here we are.
Iowa Hawkeyes The Hawkeyes have looked decent through three games and will round out their non-conference schedule this weekend.
California Golden Bears The Golden Bears are shocking the college football world and I have, naturally, overreacted accordingly.
Oregon Ducks The Ducks loss to Auburn must sting all the more as other title contenders fall, one by one.
Texas A&M Aggies The Aggies are probably out of the playoff hunt this year, but it's hard to fault them with the schedule they've faced.
Boise State Broncos Following UCF's loss, Boise State now carries many of the G5's hopes moving forward.
Washington Huskies A one-point loss to Cal is looking better and better for the Huskies.
Utah Utes A rough loss knocks the Utes down a few pegs here.
Virginia Cavaliers The Cavaliers are sitting just inside my top 20 after starting 4-0.
Kansas State Wildcats Kansas State is looking great with their first-year head coach and burst into my top 25.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons Wake Forest continues to hover in my top 25, with four wins to their credit.
USC Trojans USC's record boosts them here, though they've looked pretty rough along the way.
Michigan State Spartans The Spartans return to the poll after taking care of Northwestern on Saturday.
Memphis Tigers Memphis rounds out my top 25; undefeated with a win over Ole Miss, I think they look like a decent contender for the American.
