2017-18 National Champs UCF started out with a good 39 point win. Good enough for #5. |

UCF showed that they havent taken a significant step back even without Frost. Their moving up is more of a product of teams ahead of them moving down, but they showed no struggle with an in-conference opponent week 1.  |

UCF moved up due to Washington & Michigan losing. UCF looked just as good as last year, imo. The defense could be cleaned up but their offense can hang with anyone in the country. #MyHIsman |

Week 1 was less about UCF looking great (which they did) and more about UCF's non-conference opponents looking bad. FAU looked mediocre. UNC looked bad, and Pitt looked decent but far behind UCF. It looks like the Golden Knights can't rely on marquis OOC games this year to boost their rankings, but it also looks like the Knights have a very good shot to go undefeated. Obviously Memphis and USF have something to say about that, but the Knights should feel good about their first post-Frost season after how week 1 shook out across the board. |

One of the announcers put it best: "What a well oiled machine." UCF put up 14 points every quarter, and did not seem to lose momentum for a second. Their defense leaves a bit to be desired, but if they can clean up just a bit on that side, UCF is going to be a monster again this year. |

I saw nothing to tell me that UCF has taken much of a step back. It may have been UConn, but for a season opener in-conference that was pretty good. |

+1 spot. Unsure if this UCF team can live up to last year, but an electric start in Storrs shows UCF will be a good team once again. |

UCF still has not lost a game since the 2016 Cure Bowl, as they easily handle rival Connecticut in the Civil ConFLiCT. The offense played incredibly well, led by Milton's 5 TD, as they were 9-11 on third downs and only had to punt the ball once. The defense allowed a lot of yards, but created 3 turnovers. UCF will be tested in their two Power Five games this year against UNC and Pitt, as well as travelling to Memphis and USF. The race for the New Year's 6 bid will be an interesting one this year. |

UCF's offense looked great, and it's nice to see my reservations about the change in staff seems unaffected on that side. However, UConn is nothing to get excited about, and as a result, they aren't rewarded very much. |

UCF beat the shit out of UConn for the Civil ConFLiCT Trophy but...does that really matter? The American still isn't going to be tough enough to really test the Knights, who should move up the rankings by virtue of other teams losing. |
