RIP Southern. TCU came out and showed they have some extremely good talent on Offense, and I'm very excited to see how they fare against inter-conference foes. |

TCU hops up here because Penn State and Michigan State dropped. Didn't see anything in their blowout of an FCS team that made them move up, but can't be upset about a blowout of a team that they should blow out either.  |

Never overlook a Gary Patterson defense. Even though they "ain't played nobody" yet, they still earn this spot over the others below on the strength of their defense alone. |

TCU beat a team from Baton Rouge. It just wasn't the one everyone knows. A week 1 win over a SWAC school doesn't say much about a team, but TCU looked prepared and dominant. Like most teams on this list, we need to get through week 3 to have a better idea of who they are. That applies especially to the Horned Frogs since they face Ohio State in week 3. TCU's mainly benefiting here from other schools above them having troubling games (PSU and MSU), and me really not wanting to rank LSU too high because it scares me. Gary Patterson did have his team prepared, though, which should be a troubling sign for OSU. |

There's not much to say here since it was a dominant win albeit the opponent being an FCS team. It's too early to call where this team really is. |

TCU, like most teams Week 1, took care of business against an FCS team. The offense played well putting up 55 points without turning over the ball. The defense got 3 takeaways while only allowing 7 points. We'll see how good TCU is this year when the face off against Ohio State. However that game goes, TCU should still finish near the top of the conference. |

I mean they did what they were supposed to do. Week 3 is going to determine their season.. Pretty tough schedule throughout the season. So they definitely have the opportunity to earn a higher ranking...or crumble i guess.  |
