bretticus33	2	The Buckeyes are the 1B to Georgia’s 1A. The biggest reason why I have them below Georgia is I trust Carson Beck more than Will Howard, but the talent on this team is ridiculous. A loss to Michigan, no B1G title, and/or no natty run puts a lot of pressure on Ryan Day.

Charlemagne42	2	Ohio State drew a fairly lucky schedule this season. They get both Purdue and Iowa in the Shoe, as well as Michigan. They play just four road games. Penn State overlooked the Buckeyes and scheduled their white-out for Washington instead. If Ohio State can punish Penn State for that mistake, and shoot down Oregon's hopes on the road, they'll be clearly one of the top 2 teams heading into championship week.

kamiller2020	2	On paper, Ohio State has the best college football roster. Starting with the best RB duo in CFB with Quinshon Judkins and Trey'vonne Henderson that will give Will Howard a lot of leeway to learn his role in the offense. Out wide it's a room that needs to prove itself(outside of Egbuka) but there's tons of guys with potential star power. None being bigger than freshman WR Jeremiah Smith who looks to have a big role in the offense year one. The Buckeyes have made big strides on the defense under DC Jim Knowles that have gotten OSU back to championship caliber. Jack Sawyer and J.T. Tuimoliau had the seasons people expected out of them when they were recruited and return for their 4th years alongside a DB room that's taken big steps in the last two years. None bigger than getting SEC freshman of the year Caleb Downs to transfer. The defense is not at 2019 level, but it should be the best unit they've had in Colombus in the 2020s. If the OLine and Will Howard are improvement from last year's group than Ohio State should be hoisting the national title. However that question is what's keep Ohio State from the #1 spot.

It sure has been a contentious couple of seasons in the Columbus Conundrum recently, in which getting 10 wins and playing in major bowls - the DREAM for many a program - is instead seen as "slipping up" and "worthy of getting fired for it", if you can put it like that. But look, I'm not here to talk about whether or not this truly is the final chance for Ryan Day, or if THE Ohio State fans are extremely spoiled and impatient, but what I am here to talk about is that we see many major changes with the program, from new coordinators and players, to an arguably bigger and harder road to repeat past success. But hey, even a rocky road is still a road - and after all, now that Michigan more or less "peaked", perhaps the time for the hierarchy of the DC...I mean, the B1G Universe is about to change!
