Utah survived Thursday craziness against Washington State to get Kyle Wittingham his 150th FBS win, all of them as Utah’s HC. The Utes are obviously very good but also very inconsistent. Utah is the 2nd best 2-loss team in the country to me.
close win against wsu who is, mediocre, though oregon also only got a close win. maybe they are near/at the top of th pac as well. 4 in the top 15 is funny (but non in the champ run really)
What a weird game they played. Even with what looked to be mostly their backup offense, they managed a W in Pullman. Not an easy task. They just get the edge over UNC because, if they played on a neutral field and both teams were fully healthy, I think I'd pick Utah to *just* barely win in what would be an absolute classic.
(In fact, I'd really enjoy watching Utah play UNC or Kansas State)
Last Week #17 at Washington State Won 21-17. Another game where Utah looked sloppy (Florida & UCLA), but they pulled out the win this time. I was very close to dropping Utah behind both Tulane & Kansas State this week, and if they continue to have bad weeks like this then they will start trending backwards. This Week vs Arizona.
Utah won, but stayed where they were because of Cam Rising not playing so I’m hesitant to move them up until I know for sure what’s going on injury wise over there. I don’t have Utah ranked ahead of USC because I believe Utah wouldn’t be able to beat USC again without Rising.
