So I originally had Miss State here and Ole Miss right below them, but Ole Miss appears to be missing from my SEC choices (https://imgur.com/9FDJoJr). So I guess they are banned from a bowl and this poll. Harsh but fair, mods. |

It's hard to read too much into FCS shellackings, but wrecking their opponent without their Heisman-worthy QB didn't go unnoticed. It'll be hard to judge how good they are until they play someone worth a damn. I thought that'd be Kansas State but it's not looking that way. |

Little movement. Mississippi State jumps up four spots, but a lot of that was just due to bad losses by Miami, Michigan, and Florida State. |

+3 spots. Moving up mostly on the back of other team's falling. Mississippi State beat down FCS side Stephen F Austin showing a strong offense. |

Mississippi State dominated without their best weapon in Fitzgerald even suiting up. That means two things:1. The rest of this team is likely better than people realize.2. We still have no idea who they are since he completely changes the look of the team. This team will win or lose based on Fitzgerald's big game ability, so if he's healthy, the rest of the SEC needs to watch out. Until he plays, though, we can't see just how high their ceiling can go. |

The Bulldogs are going to be an interesting team to watch going forward. Keytaon Thompson put up some insane numbers while taking Stephen F Austin to the woodshed. MSU also managed to hang tight all game and score consistently while keeping the 'Jacks out of the endzone entirely. |

Another team that easily took down their FCS opponent, the Mississippi State Bulldogs beat SFA 63-6. QB Thompson threw for 364 yards and 5 TDs, but had only a 42 percent completion percentage. Offense also scored 4 rushing touchdowns. The defense shut down the Lumberjacks, forcing them to go 3-18 on third down and forcing a turnover. The starting QB Fitzgerald returns next week after being suspended for the opener. Bulldogs travel to Manhattan this weekend, and will surely be tested late in the year against conference opponents, but the talent and coaching should be there. |

State with an absolute pounding of Steven F. Austin while missing their starting QB. Obviously the offense is still going to be there, the question going forward is how will they be able to handle another strong schedule? |

did what they were supposed to do week 1. Likely gunna overwhelm KState this week. UF and AU will be good tests to end sept and kick off oct.Like TCU, they have ample chances to prove themselves. |

Still am not entirely sure where Mississippi State stands. They beat Stephen F. Austin to a stone cold pulp, but that's not a stunner. |

Mississippi State looks legit; unfortunately, they're in the hardest division (arguably) in CFB. They cruised to victory with their backup quarterback and should be able to take care of Bill Snyder and K-State this weekend. |
