Ballot Type: Human

Overall Rationale: The two things I’m looking for are consistency (most importantly at the QB position) and potential (for the new comers). I’m a big fan of maximizing strengths and a bigger fan of plugging up weaknesses. How do teams control the ball and the field? Big eye test guy. We know nothing yet, so I’m talking a lot about returning talent.
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Michigan Wolverines | This might be their most complete team ever, they return a lot of talent- a highly explosive offense that masters on the ground and in the air. |
| Georgia Bulldogs | While they are back to back champs, there will be questions at QB seeing if Carson Beck can do what the Mailman did for Georgia. That paper soft schedule to start the year is DISGUSTING though. |
| LSU Tigers | The Bayou Bengals have a stud at quarterback and return one of the best lines in college on both sides of the ball. |
| USC Trojans | The Trojans have QB1 on their roster. Hard to count anyone out with a potential #1 draft pick calling them signals. |
| Utah Utes | One of the most consistent teams in college returns quite a bit of talent. Here’s to hoping that Cam Rising stays healthy because the Utes are running out of QBs. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | There are quite a few people that think the buckeyes are national champions if Marvin Harrison Jr isn’t knocked out of the semi finals. I am one of those people. Huge question at quarterback. |
| Alabama Crimson Tide | Another team that has answers everywhere but at the most important position. It’ll be interesting to see how they come along. Never count out the goat coach. |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | Hey look! Another team that is solid all around but has big questions at QB. James Franklin has made a lot out of having mid quarterbacks. It’ll be interesting to see what happens if they have a threat. |
| Florida State Seminoles | I expect the Florida State Seminal Vesicles to be one of the speedier teams in the country. The defense returns quite a bit and they will be tested early |
| Washington Huskies | The offense is bound to be explosive. They have a legit Heisman contender at QB. Will we finally see a team come out of the Pac 12 unscathed? |
| Notre Dame Fighting Irish | Marcus Freeman has turned it around after a horrid start last season. I am in love with Sam Hartman. If this defense can get the offense back out on the field in good field position, I think we see the highest scoring Fighting Irish team in quite a while. |
| Clemson Tigers | I think a new offensive coordinator and Garrett Riley is the correct way to go. in every year where Clemson has a great QB, they make the playoff. Every year they don’t, they lose two games. which will it be this time? |
| Oregon Ducks | This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He’s focused. He’s having fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a dark horse for the Heisman. |
| Oregon State Beavers | What’re the odds that Dj Ukulele finds that 5 star form he was supposed to have? The beavers will play with a chip on their shoulder after being banished to the shadow realm. They return damn near everything. Will the QB put it together? |
| Tennessee Volunteers | If you’re sitting in the 15th row of the stadium, watch out. You’re in the Joe Milton Danger Zone™️. After last season success I don’t think you can entirely count out the Vols, but I don’t think anyone can accurately predict where these guys might end up. |
| Kansas State Wildcats | The Wildcats have a stellar line and linebacker core, but they lose quite a bit on offense. (A top 3 running back and two solid recievers). |
| Texas Longhorns | They’re baaaaack. Maybe. It falls on the shoulders of Quinn Ewers. They have the talent everywhere, but they need consistent play out of a QB who lacked it last year. |
| North Carolina Tar Heels | Good offense, poor defense. I imagine every game the Tar Heels play this year will be will be one of those mid 2010s Big 12 shootouts. Will the D step up? |
| Ole Miss Rebels | This team simply fell apart last year. With a heisman hopeful at the helm, we need to see more consistency out of the defense. There’s no doubt Dart can sling it, but will he sling it efficiently? |
| Tulane Green Wave | The offensive line is fantastic. The defense and coaches have some questions. This positioning is undoubtedly because of last year’s record, but they return the most important position and have no doubt earned this spot until proven otherwise. |
| Texas Tech Red Raiders | This team is loaded with returning starters and had a fantastic end to the season once they got Tyler Shough back in the picture. I love their style of play and cant wait to see if this off-season hype comes to fruition. |
| UTSA Roadrunners | Frank Harris is a fantastic QB if you haven’t heard. This team returns a lot of the top playmakers on a solid defense and this team might just have the upset of the season against Tennessee. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | The Badgers went and got one of the best coaches in the country. NCAA journeyman Tanner Mordecai will lead Wisconsin into their last chance to win the west. |
| Maryland Terrapins | The Terps have Taulia Tagovaoiloa and a wealth of talent at the skill positions. I think they could be undefeated going into a week 6 matchup with the Buckeyes. They pose to be dangerous, like last year. |
| Texas A&M Aggies | I’m falling for the “rank A&M in the preseason” thing like everyone else. On paper they SHOULD be really good. A wealth of 5 stars lead this team. I just wonder if this is the year it all comes together. |
