crownebeach | 14 | If Clemson loses to Boston College I'm dropping them from the poll and not looking back, but Clemson has played around with a lot of teams in ACC play and they usually turn on the jets just enough to get by, so I'm not sure if this is a totally different Clemson yet or if they just took their foot off the gas. |

chrisb19 | 25 | Clemson still has a world of talent and some of the best coaches in CFB. I think their problem right now is twofold: replacing Trevor Lawrence (DJ doesn't seem to be the guy) and a lack of the kind of backfield production they're used to having (Shipley is good, but he's young and not a replacement for the kind of production they got from Etienne). They played a very good Georgia team close and then reverted to their old habits of dropping a winnable game. If they can fix their offensive struggles, they're a more talented team than basically everyone on their schedule. A non-Clemson ACC champ...what a thing to think about. |

woakley | 25 | Maybe me dropping Clemson all the way down to 25 is an overreaction, but when I was making this poll I struggled to see what they've done to deserve a good ranking this season. They beat South Carolina State, and barely beat Georgia Tech. Their biggest achievement has been keeping it close with Georgia, but I honestly wouldn't even be surprised to see Clemson lose another one this year. They just don't have any offensive firepower this year it seems. So all that to say they stay ranked for me, but just barely.  |
