Miami was frustrating to watch to say the least. The Hurricanes threw around loads of talent. Do I still think they can win the ACC Coastal? Yes. |

For some I imagine this isn't going to feel harsh enough after the performance from the Hurricanes on Sunday but I'm hesitant to drop teams more than 6-7 spots at a time. Any more than that feels like a severe overreaction on my part. |

That was a terrible game, plain and simple. If they don't replace Malik Rosier at QB, they simply have no shot of being a top10 team at all. If they keep Rosier they likely still win games, and maybe even run the table until ACCCG, but man with him starting they can lose any game on the schedule. Punting was horrendous - allowing LSU to start every drive in the first half on the 40 or better. Certainly didn't help the Defense which didn't play terrrible, but didn't play all that well either. The problem defensively is they blitz and sub way too much. They had so many 2nd and 3rd stringers in the game it was insane. Offensively the OLine looked like swiss cheese at times and couldn't get much of a push in the run game. WRs looked excellent though - too bad Rosier isn't good. They have 3 cupcake games coming up. They NEED to start the 3 Freshman and find out which one of them is going to take over for the rest of the season, because Rosier is the problem, not the solution. |

Part of me thinks that the LSU game fiasco had to do with the fact that they let the game get away from them. They rallied after LSU had already checked out to at least cut the score to a sorta 2 possession game. I keep saying it, but it really is Week 1 and dramatically overreacting to one game isn't the best idea. |

The U fooled me this year. I thought they were back. What we got instead was a prime time national TV stinker. I think the U still has a lot of talent and has a chance in the ACC, but this game showed me that they aren't there yet. |

Miami got exposed by an LSU team that I'm still not very sold on. I still think they have a hard ceiling of being a 10-win team ALMOST touching the elites of the CFB world. Playing one of those schools in week 1 exposed them. |

Miami has now lost 4 straight games dating back to last season. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in the 20s. They shouldn't have any issues with their next few games being FCS, @ Toledo (don't sleep on them), and FIU before UNC and FSU.  |

Last week, I wrote that Miami's lack of experience gave me pause, and it seems that was warranted; poor offensive line play, coupled with inconsistent kicking and punting and shaky quarterback play, led to a rough loss to LSU in Arlington, though the performance of the wide receivers was encouraging. |

-11 spots. Miami avoided total humiliation with an attempted comeback in the second half against LSU, but the offense needs work. |

At some point, Miami is going to have to prove they can win games without relying on high turnover differentials to do so. I'm keeping them in the rankings for this week because I believe in their talent and in Mark Richt's coaching. Needless to say, they need a strong performance against a dangerous Toledo squad to stay here next week. |

Miami struggled against LSU for much of the game, as the Canes went down 27-3 at halftime. Rosier played poorly for much of the game, completing only 15 of 35 and throwing two interceptions (one of whihc was returned for a touchdown). The defense allowed a couple of big plays, but played better than the score looks. Miami's home game against Florida State will surely be tough and emotional. They also have to travel to BC, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech; the last one being a game that might decide the Coastal. Despite losing this game, Miami is clearly the most talented team in the ACC Coastal and still should be considered the favorite. |

Got absolutely destroyed by LSU. They scored 14 in the 4th quarter when the game was about over to make it look better, but it was 33-3 going into the 4th quarter and LSU very obviously took their foot off the pedal instead of going for the execution. |

That was pretty inept. Still ranked for this week, but if they don't have the offense sorted soon they're not going to be here any more. |

So far it looks like I'm striking out hard on my prediction for this defense, but it's still way too early to know for sure. Malik Rosier looked horrible. Jeff Thomas might be one of the best slot receivers in the country. |
