IAMAVelociraptorAMA 13 I'm riding high on the Miami waves; I don't know if it's Richt magic or what but they seemed to outperform their talent.  This is my dark horse upset magic pick, even though they seem to be in the top 25 lists elsewhere, I'm going out on a limb and putting them up high.  Book it, done.(I'm going to die)

Arsenal7X 16 Ok I don't have any real analysis for this one other than Braad Kaaya is gone and they return basically everyone else. What I really wanted to say is it would really hilarious if Miami made the ACC title game and Georgia went like 7-5.

Grimbo_Reaper 18 I feel like UGA firing him and Da U going 9-4 last season has people forgetting that Richt is a damned good coach. I'm not expecting them to wreck shop or anything, but a top 15 team? Ya, I can see that.

MarlinsGuy 18 Kaaya is replaceable and they have a solid running game (Walton) and good receivers (Richards). The defense, particularly the defensive line (Jackson) and linebackers (Quarterman), is going to be very good.
mickeyquicknumbers 18 In the 13 years Miami has been in the ACC they've had 0 10-win season and 0 Coastal division championships. I sadly think both change this year as I predict the Hurricanes to go 10-4. Miami's front 7 will be one of the 5-10 best in the nation, but there are major questions in the run game and total unpredictability at QB, and the secondary has to start over from scratch. Those pieces should hold Miami back a bit, but they'll still be able to stop run games and pass-rush with ease, and the offensive line should take a step forward as well, and that alone will give them a major advantage over every other team in the coastal.

Our-Gardian-Angel 19 Maybe, just maybe this is the year that Miami wins the ACC Coastal Division. For that dream to become a reality, the Hurricanes' formidable front seven will need to pick up the slack for a less-than-stellar secondary.

stripes361 19 Mark Richt was a great coach at Georgia and will restore some pride to Miami's fallen football program. Year 2 of his tenure might be one year too early to make any major noise but a Coastal division title is in reach, as long as they can manage at least a split in back-to-back late-season games against UNC and VPI.

jmac_21 21 Hard for me to root against Coach Richt. They'll be good, they could sneak up on people this season.
Rainbow_Beefcake 21 Mark Richt round 2. The canes just might be on their way to consistent 10 win seasons of disappointment. Certainly not the worst problem to have.

WhiteBaseCoat 21 Miami and VT are "talented teams that lose a lot but have good second-year coaches." I kept waffling back and forth on which to put above the other; I think Fuente has higher upside, but Richt has more experience. Both teams will be inexperienced on offense. Fuente's defense should be pretty experienced, but Miami has a good bit more talent. I decided to go with the talent and the more experienced coach.
