bretticus33 2 Texas finally got their big win of the season and continued their 14 year stranglehold on the Lone Star Showdown. There's something poetic about Texas making the SECCG in their first SEC season by beating A&M, who has yet to reach the SECCG after over a decade in the conference. Rematch against Georgia in Athens up next.

Ch-i-ef 2 TEXAS IS BACK! Is this considered overused now? Well they have been back. They made a playoff run last year and they're gunning for a further run this year. Despite landing in a new and """tougher""" conference this year, they get a cupcake walk and easily handle their opponents outside of Georgia. Top to bottom, you have one of the best rosters in college football. Your most likely only flaw lies at your QB position. Quinn Ewers, despite his upside, doesn't always see the entirety of the field. And despite how tempting it is, throwing Arch back there isn't going to automatically help you win against playoff teams (unless they are from the Big12 then maybe.) Keep up the roll Texas, let's see how you do in the thick of it.

Due_Connection179 2 SEC Championship vs #7 Georgia // Texas fans should not really be happy (just yet) about being #2. They still have to beat Georgia who bullied them at Texas, but either way, the worst I could see them falling is just swapping with Georgia at #7.

big_thunder_man 2 [11-1] Beat Texas A&M. Clearly the number two. They've beaten LOTS of B+ teams (TAMU, Oklahoma) and B- teams (Michigan, Florida).
bigred91224 2
Blazemaster77 2 LW. 6. I did an overall resume review of teams 2-6 and Texas came out looking a lot more favourably. 8 wins over Bowl Eligible teams are the most in the country (tied), and they've won most by more than 1 posession. No top tier quality wins but can get one in the SECCG.

hurricaneatx 2 (11-1) - ✅ 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸 - While Texas' schedule has been more favorable than other SEC teams in contention, the Longhorns managed to avoid the pitfall of losing to the conference's mid- to lower-tier squads, which has been a thorn in the conference's playoff bid. The heart of this team is its defense, which ranks in totality as among the best in the nation. I have Texas slotted slightly ahead of Penn State given their marginally better strength of record and strength of schedule, but they could be interchangeable. While the Longhorns schedule has certainly been questioned, enough chaos occurred at the top of the rankings in the last 2 weeks for me to consider them a playoff lock regardless of the outcome of the conference championship they've played themselves into. Quality wins: Florida, @Texas A&M

mountain_troop86 3 That defense was suffocating. Not that A&M is an explosive offense but only them and ND kept A&M below 14 points this season (A&M is 30ppg team). Offense needs to be consistent to win it all
Mynameisdiehard 3 Weighing 1 loss teams, they have basically an equal SOS to Penn St. but look better and their loss was to a higher ranked team (in my rankings). Honestly, though, 3 & 4 is a toss up and the results this weekend will make the ultimate decision for my "playoff" rankings.
