Sp1cyRice 11 (-8) LOOL. Model assumes that NIU is just really good other than ND is overrated, so only went down 8 spots. I expect this number to continue going down though. Also NIU missed rankings by 1 spot :(

throwaway_6786 21 They've still got a decent win over Texas A&M to fall back on, but a lot of the offensive issues that showed up last week were magnified against NIU. The Irish still lost at the very end, but if NIU struggles, ND will go down with them to some degree. I wonder if ND has enough to make it back into the CFP conversation, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see on that front.

_TGT7 25 -19, This might be an overreaction, but what is going on with Notre Dame, only reason they stay ranked is the A&M win. They can claw their way back, but they had such an easy schedule to the CFP and blew it. Dropped teams and quick reasons are below: #11 Michigan - Looked bad against Texas and Fresno, lost to Texas, haven’t looked good all season, despite these all being home games. #18 Kansas - Lost to Illinois, who probably isn’t great this season #19 Iowa - Lost to Iowa State, should’ve not lost that game #22 Arizona - Defense looked bad against New Mexico, played lackluster against NAU, could be a decent team, but I haven’t seen it, so they wll be unranked.

Cdsnz23 25 The win on the road in week 1 plays a huge factor in why they remain, given the fact it is very early in the season and it is unknown how good of a team A&M truly is I still consider it an impressive enough quality win which puts them just above the other teams I had in consideration for the final spot

hurricaneatx 25 (1-1) - Marcus Freeman Marcus Freeman'd again. After all that talk about Notre Dame likely going undefeated, that was pretty funny. I still think that win over Texas A&M was decent enough to justify them being in the top-30ish of teams, but there are many teams on my top-40 shortlist that could (and likely will) easily boot Notre Dame out of the rankings with a win next week.

sirvalkyerie 25 I had A&M ranked last week. A loss to Notre Dame isn't something to be ashamed of, I had Notre Dame ranked #3. But after their loss to NIU things got tricky down here. A&M beat McNeese State, pillar to post. Notre Dame lost to NIU. So whaddya do? I decided that maybe A&M's loss to Notre Dame was worse than it first appeared and that Notre Dame isn't quite as good as maybe I'd thought. At the same time maybe NIU is actually really good. Maybe they run undefeated through the MAC and we get out first G5 of the 12 team era from America's favorite directional conference. Hard to say. I figured what felt most fair was the move NIU up and give them the benefit of the doubt that they're pretty good, which meant I had to assume Notre Dame is still pretty good. So A&M gets bumped just outside my Top 25 this week and Notre Dame clings to the last slot under the assumption that NIU is actually a giant killer and not that ND is a total pretender.
