Justin Fuentes has started to turn the program back in the right direction at Virginia Tech, and I think last season showed it. Lost some talent on defense, but I still expect a strong year from Virginia Tech |

This time next year I'll be talking about VT as a playoff contender. Probably not the case this year, as it's a young team, but expect a solid 9-win season from the Hokies. |

Virginia Tech, 9-4 in 2017, certainly benefited from a weak schedule last season, but they didn't really lose any games they shouldn't have and have a chance to prove themselves in 2018. |

Josh Jackson's been named the starting QB which is good news for the Fighting Gobblers considering the offseason rumors. VT lost some of their defensive players over the course of the offseason and have to replace others due to the draft but Bud Foster has proven himself among the DC elite in CFB. VT's offense will likely be improved although they need some WRs to step up big with Cam Philips gone. |

Justin Fuente has shown his Memphis days weren't a fluke in his first two seasons at VT. Keeping Bud Foster around was a huge coup for him. This year is a young team but in the ACC they should have a decently high floor if a pretty low ceiling. They won't compete with Miami or Clemson but they should be able to hang around near the top of the table outside of that top echelon. |

I like Fuente as a coach, and the Hokies are a solid program. They, along with the Hurricanes, will be the main competitors for the ACC Coastal title. |
