Temporary-Profit-643 Ballot for 2022 Preseason

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Aug. 23, 2022, 3:12 p.m.

Overall Rationale: For the preseason I rank more in tiers, separated by general skill level. S tier is the 1-3, A tier is 4-8, B is 9-13, C tier is 14-20, and D is 21-25. I separated based on general skill and recent track record, then on what I feel their potential to make the College football playoff. Separation in tiers is somewhat arbitrary, but generally on who I believe would win in a tier gets the higher nod. Potential isn't given nearly as high a mark here than on what others think. TexasA&M , for example, will likely be good this year. But they need to show it. Similar reasoning applies to USC and Miami, as well as Ole Miss. BYU is returning among the highest percentage of players in the nation and if their QB stays healthy, they have a great chance of beating several great teams. Oregon and Oklahoma are very talented and skilled teams, and while they lost their head coaches, they retained most of their talent. If Brent Venables doesnt lose his locker room, Oklahoma will be very good. Oregon will likely be instantly better on defense,. I could be wrong about ylor will be good, and are likely have a top 3 coach in the conference. I think Clemson will return to form, so long as their quarterback play. Oklahoma St still has Mike Gundy as head Coach, but still lost a lot of talent.
