EpicSchwinn Ballot for 2022 Preseason

Overall Rationale: This Preseason Poll is mostly vibes based with a hint of previous season achievement and hype for this year. As the season progresses I’ll more heavily way the overall resume of competitors based on record, SOS, MoV, and performance against the spread.

1 Georgia Bulldogs Honorable #1 for being the champs. TBH I expect some sliding as they redefine their team after losing like half of the 1st round of the NFL draft. They may sweat a little vs. Oregon. But if they pass that test I don’t think they’ll see another serious fight until the SEC Championship game. Maybe one or two of their East opponents will keep it interesting into the fourth.
2 Alabama Crimson Tide They’re back and they’re scary.
3 Ohio State Buckeyes Also back, also scary.
4 Texas A&M Aggies I’m all in on the hype. 2022 is the prove it year for the Jimbo/TAMU experiment and could potentially be the year we look back on the changing of the SEC guard.
5 Michigan Wolverines
6 Baylor Bears
7 Clemson Tigers Scary pick for me. Can they recover from last year after a staff makeover? If they do they’ll be much higher, if they don’t they’ll be sneaking in this poll at all. I don’t think we’ll know much until the NCSU game Week 5, which will decide the Atlantic, probably the ACC, and be must watch TV.
8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
9 Oklahoma State Cowboys
10 Cincinnati Bearcats
11 Oklahoma Sooners I anticipate some growing pains out of Oklahoma this year. But, since it’s Oklahoma, that means most likely a NY6 bowl and making their case for the conference title.
12 Utah Utes They’re my favorites for the Pac 12 this year. They will inexplicably drop a couple games at 1AM along the way, but I see them in Pasadena. If they keep their nose clean through the Pac 12 meat grinder, maybe even Glendale.
13 Michigan State Spartans
14 Wisconsin Badgers
15 Oregon Ducks
16 Ole Miss Rebels
17 Penn State Nittany Lions
18 Houston Cougars
19 Arkansas Razorbacks
20 BYU Cougars
21 Pittsburgh Panthers
22 Minnesota Golden Gophers
23 Appalachian State Mountaineers I’m really high on App this year. I think they beat UNC at home and fight A&M HARD. I would be shocked but not that shocked if they even pulled it off in College Station. If they do they’re NY6 locks and become the must watch G5 school in America.
24 Miami Hurricanes
25 North Dakota State Bison If they’re not the favorites against Arizona I’ll be shocked. 10-1 and FCS playoff finals appearance is the floor.
