Overall Rationale: Elo-rating system that recursively evaluates the completed games until average change in rating between each iteration reaches some tolerance. PRESEASON SPECIAL: Using the latest Vegas win totals, modify each team's Elo rating until their expected wins is equivalent (within 0.1 wins) of their Vegas win total. Pros: Vegas is usually pretty spot on, this gives me a concrete method of getting preseason ratings that account for injuries, transfers, coaching changes, etc. Cons: Biased by sentiment (I'm looking at you, Texas and USC in the top 10).
