bretticus33 9 I feel uneasy about Michigan being #9. They lost so much from last season’s team that there’s an inevitable regression coming and the QB situation leaves me wondering just what Michigan’s offense will look like. On the flip side, there’s still enoug talent at Michigan that they can still be a fringe top 10 team and win 10 games this season.

Zloggt 11 No Harbaugh? Big roster turnover? The always impeding shadow of potential NCAA punishment? Yep...all big concerns. But oh well, post-natty hangovers comes to everybody eventually - and what matters more is just how one can sober up from it. And when it comes to the Wolverines, I think they have a decent thing in place. But will Moore's boys repeat? Eh...not likely. But hey, they sure as hell can come close to doing so, and that's fairly respectable nonetheless! And honestly, I just came back from a really nice vacation in (the other side of) Michigan...so for that reason, youse Ann Arbor fellas can get a bit of a boost here!

NyquillusDillwad20 12 They lost a ton of talent and coaching, but the defense should be dominant. I just don't see their offense being too good.

Charlemagne42 14 Michigan will lose 4 times this season, but each of their opponents in those losses will be top-5 teams at the time the game is played. Two of them will duke it out for the B1G title. Michigan will be rewarded with the highest-ever ranking for a 4-loss team as the Poll Momentum (TM) from their national championship never completely wears off.
coletheredditer 14 Cheaters lost a lot, including their coach and QB, can’t doubt them too hard, let’s hope all the B1G teams has changed their signs since then

woakley 25 Recruiting Rank #13 Poll Rank #1 Production Rank #83 Overall Weighted Number 34.5 - As mentioned for 24, Michigan was actually outside of my top 25 when I performed this exercise. I didn't want to dilute Michigan's potential rating in the preseason poll and didn't feel it was appropriate to not include the defending national champions (despite the coaching change and other factors). The following teams would have been ahead of Michigan - TCU Overall weighted number 29.8, Nebraska 30.85, Louisville 32.65, Iowa 32.75, and Auburn 33.4

RedBarracuda25 6 Hold onto to that national championship tightly Michigan, you might not be able to lord it over Ohio St for much longer. Even if they lost players (and a coach) to the NFL, this team still has a number of quality players returning and I wouldn't take them to go gently into the night.

Ok_Welcome_6684 7 Despite losing a lot they still have five first round talents on the roster (4 on defense). This should be the best defense in football, the offense just relying on Alex Orji to be competent

CriterionCrypt 8 Michigan gets a bit of deference with this top 10 ranking considering they just won the national title. But I think they are a step behind a couple of teams in the B1G given how much talent they lost.

hurricaneatx 8 (Last year: 15-0, #1) - Michigan loses a majority of its production from last year, but retains a strong, highly-rated roster.

xX_GIGA_MAN_Xx 9 I really don't think they're gonna end the season ranked. I think that the amount of talent lost to the NFL, and the loss of Harbaugh will combine to overwhelm them, and lead them to a middling season, compared to the last. I don't think they'll be that disappointed though, anyone would take that if they got a National Championship. Well, except for probably Bama
