Close-ish loss on the road to a top-3 team doesn’t seem to penalize them too much |

Of the 1-loss teams, the two at the top will be the teams with the least embarrassing losses. And that starts with Tennessee, who got beat handedly but didn't let the game completely get away against #1 Georgia. The Alabama win still looks good and the LSU win looks better every day. Keeping it closer against Georgia is what is giving the Vols the hand over Oregon right now, because Oregon has the better win against UCLA. |

I have Tennessee as the best 1-loss team because they got blown out less badly than Oregon did vs Georgia and have the very good Bama win (although that looks a bit shakier than it did last week). |

There's no question they got smothered. Still, they have a strong resume and have a clear path to 11-1. If some funky stuff happens they deserve to still be in the race. |

Yes, Tennessee lost to Georgia. Yes, a lot of the fluff around Tennessee was probably just hype. But in the context of other teams, I would still argue they're better than LSU, TCU, USC, UCLA, Utah, and others down the line if placed head-to-head. Not a top 4 team, anymore, though. |

Last Week #3 at #1 Georgia Lost 13-27. They looked like the worse team the entire game. It will be interesting to see how Tennessee responds to this loss, but as of now they don't hold their CFP destiny anymore (needs a big loss in the Ohio State/Michigan game & needs an Oregon loss). This Week vs Missouri. |
