Muffinnnnnnn Ballot for 2022 Week 11

Ballot Type: Human

Overall Rationale: Wins and losses matter. If you have the same record and beat a team head-to-head, you must be ahead...........until this week. This is the first week where there became issues following this philosophy, and they occurred in both the Big 12 and ACC. The ACC ended up just having all of their 6-3 teams drop out of my rankings, leaving only Clemson, North Carolina, and NC State. With the Big 12, what I decided to do was give higher priority to games that were more recent. So I'm sorry, Oklahoma State. While you are both 6-3 and beat Texas head-to-head, the drubbing by Kansas State and loss to Kansas means you fall all the way out while Texas remains in. It's getting harder to find teams that feel "worthy" of being top 25. So I have to settle more, with teams like Notre Dame and Illinois who I didn't anticipate having in my top 25. Also, Tulane drops some due to their best win slowly looking less amazing as time goes on. I'm still impressed with Tulane though, and a win over UCF would be quite good. Of all teams I have ranked, I feel like Ole Miss is one of the more controversial choices, but this is pretty consistent with how I've been rating them all year. They have played a grand total of 1 good team (LSU) and got destroyed by them. In their games vs not great teams, they don't look impressive. Heck, Tulane was a lot more dominant vs Tulsa ON THE ROAD than Ole Miss was AT HOME vs Tulsa, so yes, Tulane is above them, along with several 2-loss teams. If Ole Miss wants to win me over, beat Bama. Coastal is here, with a pretty impressive win vs App State, but still overall lacking in the schedule department. 8-1 is 8-1 though. We'll see how they fare vs the Tulane slayers, Southern Miss.
