Kyle Trask was great last year, and the Gators offense looked much more efficient with him under center. He has poise, leads the unit, and will be able to properly utilize the weapons on the Gator offense that Franks couldn't do. Trevon Grimes and Kyle Pitts return, but I expect Kadrius Toney to break out this season at WR. Most of the top guys on the Gators defense return and the experience gained on the DLine with Greenard and Zuniga being so hurt should pay dividends this season. Familiarity matters in college football and Mullen have it with this roster across the board. Which in 2020, might be what gets the Gators a national title. |

So hear me out, Kyle Trask is the best RETURNING quarterback in the SEC.  That is the main reason I put UF way up here.  Otherwise, defense should be solid with some nasty pieces in the secondary, biggest thing will be getting the running game back on track but the o-line can't really be worse than last year so I have to assume there is some improvement. |

I think UF has a great shot to beat UGA this season, especially with UGA having QB's that are new to the program; however, until I see Florida beat Georgia with my own two eyes, I cannot have them ranked higher than UGA. |

Yeah, I think Florida is the strongest team in the East.  With a consistently nasty defense and one of the better returning QBs in the SEC running Dan Mullens offense, I think this is the year Florida tops Georgia to get beaten by an Alabama backup coming in at the half. |

+3 | 77.9 | The Gators are a trendy pick to break through and make their first playoff appearance, but much like rival Georgia, they've been stuck in a rut over the past two seasons. Overcoming a brutal SEC slate will be difficult, but the Gators have their best CFP odds yet. |

The Gators would be sitting pretty if they were in basically any other conference in the country. |

Florida is a tough one for me to predict. Franks just wasn't the man for the job and I think Trask is better. But he isn't going to light it up. Like UGA, their defense will help them win plenty of games. |

I accurately predicted that Florida would be really good last year, but I don't have as good a read this year. They could win the East, but they could also be overly dependent on the pass. Kyle Trask is fine, but you aren't winning the SEC if you can't run the ball. |
