Overall Rationale: I'm generally much more of a "resume" guy, and will avoid using the eye test as much as possible, unless I need a tiebreaker or we have a very limited sample size... like week one! If you looked like mediocre against bad and/or non-FBS, you probably dropped. If you didn't look like you belonged on the field against good opposition, you dropped. If you took a risk playing a good team, and FBS team, or a road game, I gave you more credit than others.

Best win by a team not named Alabama this week, still have long-term doubts about their longevity, but would not be surprised in the least if they beat tOSU and PSU.  |

I had trouble sorting out USC, PSU, and UW. We had three distinct scenarios.PSU - won at home in dominating fashion against a not-good G5 team.UW - won on the road in shaky fashion against a not-good but P5 team.USC - won at home in shaky fashion against a good G5 team.I opted to reward resume before the look of things - thus USC>UW>PSU. One way or another won't have to worry about this next week with Stanford coming to LA. |

I think the only losing team I left in the rankings, which is a credit to them looking pretty good, making Alabama's offense look bad, and being brave enough to play in the first place. Also don't want to penalize them for losing Francois until we see how they look without him.  |

Strong possibility they are a top-5 team next week.  |

Looked not-good against Purdue.  |

Looked not-super but was without Eason for much of it, next week will tell more.  |

Troy is a good team, and they'll have the chance to solidify themselves as the best G5 next week, after South Florida looked very shaky.  |

Maryland went on the road against a far more "talented" team and embarrassed them, despite losing their QB for a while. They've done more than most schools through 1 week. This is also kinda an honorary ranking for all of the bottom of the B1G, which suddenly seems pretty decent. At least one of Rutgers, Maryland, or Purdue is going to win against one of the top 4 B1G teams this year, and it's going to be awesome.  |
