The heart of this team is its defense, which ranks in totality as among the best in the nation. I had Texas slotted slightly ahead of Penn State given their marginally better strength of record and strength of schedule at the end of the regular season, and a second loss to the same team doesn't really change the formulation there. Their offence has been mediocre in the second half of the season, and they haven’t really beaten great teams. I’ll say they’ve had a bit more control in their wins than Penn State and haven’t had as poor performances and Penn State vs Bowling Green and USC. They just kinda beat a bunch of okay teams. |
