I think behind Tennessee and USC, who have largely taken care of business repeatedly, but ahead of some other teams who haven't shown a whole lot but are sticking around in the top 10 from inertia is fair for TCU and UCLA. TCU ahead based on road win vs. home, but this is basically a toss-up. |

TCU won a hard fought battle at Kansas, which gives them a very good win, but the thing is...they don't have much else. A home win against Oklahoma is okay, but that looks much worse by the week at this point. Home games against Oklahoma State and Kansas State in the next two weeks offer a chance to remedy that. |

I am not sure whether Sonny Dykes or Garrett Riley should get more credit for how Max Duggan has been playing. If it is Riley, we're about to have both Riley brothers coaching P5 teams, because the results have been wildly shocking. I am really not sure how this team will fare when they play an opponent with a pulse on the defensive side of the ball, but you can't argue with the results we've seen on offense (like did you see the catch Quentin Johnston had against Kansas?? And what about that throw??). We'll learn more about this team over the next few weeks when they play OSU and K-State. They control their own destiny at this point, though, and it's looking like we're going to have to entertain Dykes as a COTY candidate. |

Sonny Dykes has transformed TCU’s offense. Max Duggan has been superb and their offense is one of the best in the country. The Horned Frogs are undefeated and that win over Kansas was huge, but beating Oklahoma State would catapult them into being the Big 12 favorites. |

A gutsy, impressive win at Kansas. TCU has everything they want right in front of them, and to me one of the 4 best and most trustworthy QBs in the Big 12 (Duggan, Jalon Daniels, Ewers, and Sanders). |

Talk about an early contender for game of the year. The 4-0 Horned Frogs visited Lawrence, Kansas on College Gameday to face the 5-0 Jayhawks. After roaring to a 10-0 lead, Kansas would pull back to take the lead, 17-10, at the start of the third quarter. However, three TDs before the end of the quarter would put the Horned Frogs back on top, up 31-24 entering the fourth. Inspiring performances from QB Max Duggan, & WR Quentin Johnston, whom finished with 206 yards on 14 receptions, would keep the Frogs in this shootout in Lawrence. After a Kansas TD with 4:20 left in the game, it was 31-31 all. After an electrifying return from Shadrach Banks, the Frogs would take the ball up to the TCU 40 yard line. 6 plays, 68 yards, 2:36 minutes later, and Duggan would find Quentin Johnston for a 24 yard reception in the endzone to take the lead, 38-31. An ensuing fourth down stop would leave the Horned Frogs victorious. The energy that HC Sonny Dykes has inserted into this program has unquestionably turned around the aura of this once declining program. The Frogs find themselves with a 5-0 record for the first time since 2017. Up next: a showdown vs. Oklahoma State for drivers seat in the Big-12 title race. |
