Overall Rationale: Based on resume alone, with best wins possible rewarded. Means we get some really funky rankings (too many cupcakes means nearly no points for over half the P5), but hey they should become rational in the coming weeks when the perennial contenders play FBS teams and the losses start hitting the current "top" teams.. It's all a toss-up for now.

1 Texas State Bobcats The biggest upset loss goes to the Texas State bobcats, though this just means they can easily fall down to earth. Still, there is a real chance this team goes undefeated given the rest of their schedule.
2 Duke Blue Devils How about my Blue Devils! After a resounding victory against Clemson my Blue Devils get #2, which will sadly even out in the coming weeks. Unlike Texas State, we in Durham still have little chance to run the gauntlet with Notre Dame, UNC and FSU on our schedule.
3 Colorado Buffaloes Upsetting TCU and looking good doing it lands you here. The Big Noon game will land you in a PRIME position on week 1, especially as an upset. Good job buffs.
4 Wyoming Cowboys Another upset, this time against Tech lands Wyoming up here for their beautiful play against Tech to win in 2OT.
5 Florida State Seminoles Not all teams get here via upset. Some just have that Nole in them to dominate LSU and claim the throne through quality opponent. Good job FSU!
6 Northern Illinois Huskies The BC upset is hardly impressive in my mind, but I guess you can be rewarded for doing what no other MAC team could do against the P5.
7 Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks Beating Army?
8 Fresno State Bulldogs Beat Purdue in a somewhat upset, at their place, easy to get here.
9 Houston Cougars UTSA is good, Houston better so they get here.
10 Utah Utes Better team dominates worse P5 gets you points. Don't think I am all about the upsets, its just they are disproportionately apparent during week 1 calculations.
11 Jacksonville State Gamecocks Not sure why they got so many points for beating UTEP, but okay.
12 North Carolina Tar Heels SCar upset gets you here. Dominant week for the real Carolina.
13 WKU Hilltoppers Play a FBS team, get points? IDK why they are here.
14 Rutgers Scarlet Knights See above.
15 Washington Huskies Boise State domination is rewarded
16 Tulane Green Wave Tulane B2B NY6?
17 Penn State Nittany Lions Dominate P5 that is bad, get here.
18 California Golden Bears Do more than expected.
19 Liberty Flames FBS.
20 UCLA Bruins Honestly pinned this as an upset, so I see it.
21 Tennessee Volunteers Beat UVA, gets points.
22 Stanford Cardinal Hawaii ain't that bad, so likes Stanford.
23 SMU Mustangs Play FBS.
24 Michigan Wolverines Play FBS and do well.
25 Ohio State Buckeyes Play FBS and do... okay.
