Closed out an overtime shootout against rival Tennessee. Answered the lingering questions about whether Gunner Stockton is a viable QB. Arguably Florida State's and Oklahoma's wins over higher-rated opponents by two scores are better, but the season will bear out which teams really belong up here. For now, it's Georgia. |

Very nearly put UGA at the #1 spot following the win over Tennessee because they won through great adversity. However, they also have looked a little sluggish against bad competition at other points this year and did need a bit of luck to end up winning it in the end. |

I didn't know Georgia had that sort of offensive explosion in them, but maybe I underestimated Gunner Stockton. |

While there is an expanded playoff, the regular season is still all about survival, and they showed a lot of guts in Neyland. |

One of the best things about Kirby's teams that I don't think they get enough credit for is that they are incredibly adaptive. Yes, the main style will always be suffocating defense and running the ball but they're more than capable of not just competing in but winning shootouts when they have to, and Saturday's win over Tennessee was a prime example of that. Also to be clear, even if Georgia lost I'd still have them very high in the rankings because they are a top 10 at minimum team regardless |

Huge win over Tennessee where they proved they can score big vs power conference opponents. Alabama and Auburn games coming up will be good tests to see how this team will fair all season. |

Austin Peay was a problem, and I'm tired of pretending it wasn't. Tennessee could have, and probably should have, won that game. But I don't like punishing teams for winning tough games on the road. So solidly #7. |
