Muffinnnnnnn Ballot for 2026 Week 4

Overall Rationale: Wins and losses matter most. If you have the same record as a team and beat them head-to-head, you must be ahead of that team. It's early season, so kneejerk reactions should be the norm until we get more information. Former #9 Texas A&M and former #12 Virginia crash all the way out of the rankings after suffering emphatic losses to unranked teams, who move up to #15 (Kentucky) and #16 (West Virginia). Ole Miss's pretty dominant win over LSU vaults them up to #3, dragging new #7 Louisville along with them. The Cards' game was much more competitive than LSU's game vs Ole Miss, where LSU never led at any point. Despite other people's rankings, #18 LSU didn't drop much for me, as I already had them #15 last week. That Clemson win doesn't mean much and they looked bad vs Louisiana Tech. After a shaky start to the season dropped them down to #21 last week, Texas Tech's performance vs Houston, especially in the 2nd half, renewed my faith in them to be good. In other news, several teams dropped after lackluster performances (like #25 USC), teams #18-20 all suffered defeats vs higher ranked teams, and we had several more teams fall out and get replaced. Exiting the top 25 this week was #9 Texas A&M, #12 Virginia, #23 Michigan, #24 Oregon, and #25 Boise State. Replacing them were the two upsetters, Kentucky and West Virginia, along with several teams who have looked good vs unranked foes in Utah, Florida, and Miss State. Utah has been a total whiff on my part so far this year. I wasn't totally convinced in them and had them in and out of the top 25 (out last week), but their blowout of Arkansas looks even better now that UGA had a tougher time with them, and their 33-0 stomping of Utah State seems quite good considering Washington had to eek out a 2-point win vs them last week. I'm massively course-correcting on them. Don't embarrass me, Utes.... With all that being said, I'm sure I'll have more to say in the reddit comment. Be sure to tell me how stupid I am!
