2 Texas Longhorns I understand things were probably going to come down after the Ohio State win but that was a really sluggish win. It's not panic now mode but there are still very serious flaws to this team.
3 Indiana Hoosiers
4 Miami Hurricanes Wake Forest was an okay challenge, but this team is not going to face a real challenge until they play Notre Dame.
5 Ole Miss Rebels That was a sweet revenge game. Defense still has serious questions, but it's Chambliss is playing at Maxwell level.
6 Ohio State Buckeyes
7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
8 BYU Cougars
9 Alabama Crimson Tide Good resiliency to come back against Florida State but I do question if it wasn't at least a little due to the lightning delay throwing Florida State out of rhythm after they frankly dominated the Tide through the first half of this game.
10 LSU Tigers It was time to pump the brakes on the LSU hype. Josh Pate said it was "drugs" that they weren't Top 3 after beating Clemson week 1, I think it's more a reasonable tempering of your expectations (Especially since Clemson has significantly fallen off from their highs). LSU has talent, no doubt, but they are very rough around the edges. They played like what they are: A mercenary squad under a new head coach.
11 USC Trojans The classic Lincoln Riley story. Incredibly talented offense, nonexistent defense. Rutgers looked better against the Trojans than they did against UMass or Boston College, which should be worrying if you're a fan.
12 Texas Tech Red Raiders
13 Utah Utes
14 Louisville Cardinals Great win against SMU. They've set themselves up to be in good position to contend for the ACC title and potentially make the CFP.
15 Tennessee Volunteers
16 Oregon Ducks I had the Ducks at 16 last week and I'm not moving them. Is running up the score on the worst team in D1 supposed to impress me, or make me forget the first two weeks?
17 Penn State Nittany Lions
18 Iowa Hawkeyes
19 Mississippi State Bulldogs They've got a very real passing attack that should scare some of these SEC secondaries. Look for them to be sneaky good and take a game or two off some of these top SEC teams they play.
20 Kentucky Wildcats Big win against A&M almost makes you forget about the collapse last week. *Almost*.
