gohuskies Ballot for 2016 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 6, 2016, 2:40 p.m.

Overall Rationale: UCLA, Miami, SD State, Nebraska, North Carolina considered for the last couple of spots.I still don't think TCU is a good team and a way closer than it should have been shootout with South Dakota State did nothing to change my mind.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Most dominating performance of the first week.
Florida State Seminoles wait
Houston Cougars Best win of week one. Defense was flying around, Greg Ward is a stud, and they answered a lot of questions. Now time to root that Oklahoma still has a good season.
Clemson Tigers Looked pretty good on the road at Auburn. Bit disappointed the offense didn't put up more points.
Michigan Wolverines Played great against a crappy team.
Ohio State Buckeyes Played great against a crappy team.
Texas Longhorns Texas was fast, physical, and playing with a lot of heart - they are going to be really tough to beat if they keep playing like that. Shane Buechele was about as impressive as you can be for a freshman QB in his first game, against Notre Dame. We'll see if they can stay up here.
Georgia Bulldogs Very nice win over a good UNC squad.
Stanford Cardinal Decent win against a decent K-State team. Bye week to tune up then they get a gauntlet in the coming month.
Wisconsin Badgers Didn't watch the game but win over a very talented LSU squad + sounded like they outplayed LSU throughout the game.
Louisville Cardinals Lamar Jackson and friends looked every bit the part of an elite team against overmatched Charlotte. Sept. 17th match with FSU looms.
Washington Huskies UW absolutely dominated Rutgers and look like they can live up to the hype. Welcome back John Ross!
Texas A&M Aggies Very nice overtime win over what should be a good UCLA team. Some of that was UCLA shooting themselves in the foot but a lot was due to Texas A&M's play as well.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Pulverized a bad FCS team.
Oregon Ducks Beat but didn't quite pulverize a bad FCS team.
Oklahoma Sooners First of the week one losers. This feels like the right spot for them...teams above them either had big week 1 wins or are pretty plausible conference champions.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Tough double-OT loss. Kizer needs to be the QB from here on out. Very impressed with their physicality and athleticism.
Tennessee Volunteers Is it possible for a team to win a game at home against a Sun Belt team and look worse than Tennessee did? If that was an anomaly they'll shoot back up, but if not they're going to have a really hard time starting against VT.
Michigan State Spartans MSU could of course win the Big Ten too, but Furman was in that game way too long.
Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa looked good - Iowa/Wisky/Nebraska could be an exciting race for the Big Ten West.
Ole Miss Rebels wait
LSU Tigers They'll probably look better when they don't go against elite defenses like Wisconsin. Unfortunately, the SEC has a few elite defenses.Bonus fun fact: Cam Cameron is the highest paid offensive coordinator in the country.
Baylor Bears Still in a holding pattern with them.
Boise State Broncos Brett Rypien is the real deal - watch what he does against WSU's secondary this week.
Utah Utes Kind of ugly but physically dominant win for the Utes - lots more of those games coming.
