T-Thugs Ballot for 2016 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 6, 2016, 1:46 p.m.

Overall Rationale: The teams that won big matchups are at the top. The teams that defeated power 5 opponents are next. I don't care to see teams defeat terrible opponents by 50. Teams like Ohio State (who I think is very very good) will move up as soon as they play someone good.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Dominant performance over USC. Still rolling. Yikes.
Houston Cougars They just looked flat out better than Oklahoma. The score actually made it feel closer than it was.
Florida State Seminoles Great performance against what I think is a good Ole Miss team. Really recovered well after a poor start.
Texas Longhorns I actually don't think Texas is the fourth best team in the country, but I think their win over Notre Dame is more impressive than what other teams have done so far.
Wisconsin Badgers Like Texas, I don't think Wisconsin is actually this high. Beating LSU gets you a spot high in the rankings at the start though. LSU can't pass and this win may get less impressive, but for now they get dropped right here.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia looked impressive in their win over North Carolina.
Texas A&M Aggies Got a win over what people expected to be a solid UCLA team. Without much to compare to, that gets them here for now. I don't think they are better than Clemson, but I think beating UCLA > beating Auburn.
Clemson Tigers They played a closer game than I expected, but they did beat Auburn on the road.
Washington Huskies Rugers stinks but Washington won big and that is a power 5 opponent. With a lack of other impressive wins, that puts Washington top 10 in my poll for now.
Stanford Cardinal Defeated Kansas State. Still have McCaffrey.
West Virginia Mountaineers Solid win over Missouri.
BYU Cougars Defeated Arizona in their opener.
South Alabama Jaguars Defeated Mississippi State on the road.
Western Michigan Broncos I know this is stupid. I'm counting beating Northwestern on the road as a solid week 1 win, though.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Defeated Boston College to start off their season.
Minnesota Golden Gophers Week 1 win over Oregon State
South Carolina Gamecocks I actually think this team kind of stinks.
Ohio State Buckeyes Here's the start of the rankings that are basically 100% hype. Beat the crap out of a terrible opponent.
Michigan Wolverines Beat a terrible hawaii team.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Miami Hurricanes
Illinois Fighting Illini
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Baylor Bears
Nebraska Cornhuskers
