SpeedxKills Ballot for 2016 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 7, 2016, 9:59 a.m.

Overall Rationale: nan

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide After a first week bye, the defending national champions get their first action against WKU. Should be interesting to see how sharp and focused they are after such an usually long layover. Who will start at QB? Bateman, Barrnett, Hurts? And will they be ready to take the reigns? Who does the running game replace Derrick Henry? Is the defense going to play up to the potential we think they have? Should be interesting to finally have all these questions answered week 2. The CFB has been waiting. Seriously, who takes a bye week 1 anyway? You crazy Saban...
Clemson Tigers Was really tempted to drop Clemson a little after playing a close game with an unranked Auburn team that was playing musical chairs at QB. The fact that they were playing on the road in a hostile SEC environment is the only saving grace. One could make a case for FSU and OSU here, but Clemson stays... for now.
Ohio State Buckeyes So OSU blew out BGSU... *slow cap*
Florida State Seminoles I had high expectations for that Ole Miss team and through the 1st half it looked like they were going to deliver. Admittedly I underrated FSU in my first poll. Had them at #13 because of all the experience they lost, starting a freshman QB, and they lost to a G5 Houston team in their bowl game. Boy does that Houston lost from last year look different going into week 2. Hindsight is 20/20. Back in the top 5 where I should have had them last week.
Houston Cougars Damn Houston you scary. Beating a top 5 OU team gets you into the top 5. It's unfortunate they won't really be tested by another P5 team, Louisville, until week 13. Can they hold on here if they win out?
Stanford Cardinal Didn't find this win overly impressive. Seemed like a close game for Stanford until the 4th quarter. Next big (small?) test is against USC at home in two weeks. We'll learn more about the Cardinal then.
Michigan Wolverines So you beat Hawaii a team that didn't have an scrimmage film to watch... well done Harbaugh. /s
Wisconsin Badgers Wow what an impressive win here. I had LSU as one of my highest confidence picks in CFB pick ems. Honestly can't believe a defense led by Justin Wilcox, who was terrible at USC last year, was able to stop Fournette. Is this a fluke or can this team with the B1G?? We'll find out.
Texas Longhorns Had always expected Texas to be a solid team this year. That freshmen QB Buchele looked great and so did Swoopes now that he doesn't have to throw the ball. Taking down a top 10 team in impressive fashion has me bump them all the way up into the top 10. I know some are going to disagree because they were unranked. But this was arguably one of the top 3 most impressive wins last week. This team looks like they have all the pieces right now. Time will tell if I'm giving them too much credit.
Georgia Bulldogs Impressive win here. Back up for UGA.
Washington Huskies
TCU Horned Frogs Getting in a shootout with an FCS team at home? Ehh, luckily so many teams dropped games or else TCU gets bumped down pretty hard.
Michigan State Spartans
Louisville Cardinals
Oklahoma Sooners
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
LSU Tigers
Ole Miss Rebels
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Tennessee Volunteers
Iowa Hawkeyes
Texas A&M Aggies
Oregon Ducks
Baylor Bears
Miami Hurricanes
